Lovely post @lovejoy. You and I met last summer I think, at @timcliff's pizza get together in Edina. I remember telling you I was interested in steemit for the opportunity to write. Then promptly didn't write for several months. Writing now though, and loving it. I have the same generalist's question you do (what am I doing here?) but chose a particular topic (food) and started there. Its going well and I'm having fun getting back into writing.
Quick note on the advice you cited. "Done is better than perfect" has long been the mantra of the quilting community. I learned it there and never looked back. Blessings on you and your tea.

Heya @ducksaplenty! Glad to see you here and know that you made your leap into some consistent writing on Steemit, that's a feat! I think it's too late for me to just pick a topic and go with it... since like 20 years now.. lol, but that's ok. I'm adapting. I'm getting more comfortable with a conversational approach to writing on Steemit, which should help me considerably. Thanks for your lovely comment!
And PS, I knew I liked quilters... they know what's up!
