First day of spring

in #life7 years ago (edited)

You know spring has sprung when the fragrant Sakura are in full blossom. I was talking to a random older lady before I took this picture. She was complaining about how she thought might be turned into a condo tower might block her view. There is a big sector of the West End that is zoned heritage but who’s to say how long they will be protected for. The soul of Vancouver is becoming hard to come by. I asked her if I could take a picture of her for my blog but she refused evoking that twitter and the such was not her thing. She did say she would have enjoyed social media for her travels when she was younger but is puzzled by the youth on the bus with their eyes glued to their screen.

I went to Samurai sushi alone for a satisfying lunch. The staff speaks Japanese there which is a nice change from all the Chinese owned sushi restaurant in that it is homey and authentic. I am not sure if the server was hitting on me but there was a nice rapport between I and this handsome young man. After all, it is in the gay village on David street.

Here is Barkley manor and another heritage home next to it. These buildings epitomize the soul of Vancouver which is disappearing quicker than you can say chimichanga.

A watercolor of the Aurora Borealis made as I was teaching to demonstrate a few points namely that you have to be careful about how wet your paper is before executing a wet on wet wash. This second trial has bigger streaks of green than the first one which I have not included. By using less water, I had more control over what I was doing.

Times change and resisting can cause more pain than anything else. In exchange for beautiful weather and Nature everywhere you go, I am constantly confronted to the wealth of the decadently rich. Even looking at the regular rich makes me envious but then I remind myself that I love my job and that those fancy condos and cars are just things. I look to spiritual wealth more than anything else.

Speaking of wealth and spirituality, I bought a fancy Apogee condenser mic and got to work on a guided meditation. I don’t think I’ll use that take but it’s nice to practice on a clean white noise free track! You will be the first to know when I release this exciting project.

it's beautiful when spring comes, and we still have winter to please with our snow

Not sure I understand what you mean but I love it. It reads like a poem.

Hey friend, enjoyed reading this. It is much easier to read stuff on here format wise than sola. At first i thought you were saying the lady didn't want you to take a picture of the tree i was like ..okay?? Lol.

I feel you on the filthy rich AND the regular rich. I like that you remind yourself of what is really important in life. You seem to have hold onto some good grounding techniques. 💓

You've peaked my interest on the last project you mentioned. I'll stay tuned. 😊

All we have is each other!
