An error becomes a mistake only when we fail to convert it...Those were the words of the famous ex American president John F Kennedy.
In life, we are bound to make mistakes as human beings, the mistakes doesn't make us any less human, sometimes we have to admit that we even make mistakes even with the best of intentions, but those errors only become mistakes when we leave them unattended to.
I will quickly branch into life and relationships quickly before I round up. Do you know that the reason why some people set themselves up for failure in life, it is because we feel some errors should simply be overlooked, those overlooked errors end up becoming the mistakes that bite us in the ass.
Take for instance, a man who feels he's doing something patriotic for his country, might end up feeling he committed an error, if he doesn't take steps to correct those mistakes he made, it might become the error that will send him to his death bed with regrets.
Another instance is the case of a leader who has numerous affairs while in office, of course, at that point in time he has the power to cover his errors, but what happens when he leaves the direct corridors of power? His errors will become the mistakes that will sink him and his ambition.
It is not only that, so many people, either parents, teachers, guardians and what have you, have often come out later to admit the errors they made in the past ended up becoming the mistakes that outdid them in the end.
The greatest tactical error Hitler made cost him a war he cherished (although that was a good thing), a mistake that outdid him in the end.
In relationships, being too controlling is an error people often make, at the end of the day, it becomes a mistake that costs us that thing or person we might cherish.
Errors like becoming easily irritated, quick to anger or disgust, raising your voice, are things that will do no good, because the truth is after all is said and done, we often look back at such errors and just simply ask why we did them in the first place.
The answer is simple, those mistakes were errors we refused to attend to, they later became our own undoing. From personal experience, the costliest kind of errors which become the mistakes which hurts the most are often the relationship kind.
A friend who was seeking relationship advice once asked how I sometimes managed to suppress the urge to claim right and cope with people who might seem controlling, I told him something quite true...
You ask yourself which is more important, your desire to always be right or your relationship.
If you can answer that, then you know why you do not have to react and turn a minor error into a mistake.
The difference between a mistake and an error can be explained like this, when you see yourself being able to dialogue over a perceived poor judgement, that's an error and it remains that way, but when you wallow in the "how I wish" lines, then I am almost certain that it has become a mistake.
You can easily bounce back from an error, but leaving an error unchecked for long becomes something more costly, that is when the error becomes a mistake.

this is so true!
Overlooked errors ends up becoming the mistakes that bite us,error becomes mistakewhen we start to spend time experiencing the error without making any effort to change the situation. In relationship,we have to choose the relationship over ego if you really care to make the relationship work because no one is ever perfect. Thanks for sharing this great post now i know the big different between errors and mistakes
its all about human psychology what you believe in if you are a positive person then you can take a very big problem very lightly and you will have ability to take stand about your own mistake. commitments a mistake is not the problem but acceptance is everything .so be a human and always accept your mistake for the sake of success. thanks

We must learn to overlook mistakes in life.
Thanks for sharing
@ehiboss
That's is an interesting write-up, it is very insightful too. Making mistakes is something we will never escape, but we can modify it for our own good.
truth..mistakes were formerly errors not dealt with. well said .
I believe if you've never made a mistake. Then you haven't tried anything new. This belief doesn't necessarily translate to the guarantee that all new things must be filled with mistakes. Gracias.
Wow! amazing
Very informative
Really explains the difference between error and mistakes
Even my Grammarly keyboard is also informing me to change the error in this comment to mistakes (that is they are synonyms)
But with this post, i now know the difference
Guess i always stop at the error point, but sometimes it advances to mistakes
Maybe an ego issue
Well done boss
@tormiwah
True to the core, we as humans often leave our mistakes un - attended to thereby making the biggest blunder of life. But what if we correct it? Then of course, path to success might be a little vague but certainly the road lights up a bit. @ehiboss, thank you for sharing these insightful facts.
Denial is a quite powerful force for many people. They'd rather avoid responsibility than fix anything. Even when you are not responsible for what has happened to you, you are responsible for how you react to it. Very nice post
This was an eye-opener for me. Thank you for sharing
Mistake is a sign that one is making effort. In those mistakes lies great life lessons which amounts to experience and like I always teach " Your past is your experience, present is your experiment and future is your expectation" Without your past (mistake) which is your experience - you may not experiment well in your present and if you fail in your experiment due to the lack of application of your past(experience) you won't get any better in your expectation which is your future.
Great work! Kindly follow back.
Personally i think this write up is specifically for me.... Anyways thanks for this @ehiboss
I can't but wonder how you manage to do it @ehiboss. Every time you manage to bring out a very beautiful motivation from something that we otherwise thought was uncomplicated and straightforward.
But as beautiful as this post is, I have one or two reservations about the cutting line between errors and mistakes. But I don't know if I am allowed to disagree with my boss.
Mistakes are meant to happen as it will help to bring a new version of you.
Motivating, interesting.
Many at times, there are some little little things as a mistake we do, and call it a small thing ,but they are big and dangerous in future. Even in our various relationships. Keeping boundry at the initial time is the key. Thanks for sharing
inspiring and motivating keep up the good work bro!
No one is perfect. The most important job is working on ourselves before anything. Thanks for this g.
