I Can Barely Contain My Excitement

in #life7 years ago (edited)

Omar and I are renting our first house!

We've been planning a move for months, now. Omar's younger brother, Gabriel @ricorolla , will be ending his service with the military next month, and what better place to make that transition back into civilian life than with his big bro?

Plus, Wallace needs a yard. He is still too anxious of a thing to do his business when we take him out for a walk, but he will do it within an enclosed space. He feels safer within the walls of a fence, I suppose. And he LOVES to run freely without a leash.

Also, Omar and I have been needing a larger space to set up our lights and camera for the Crypt0's News show.  This tiny apartment that we've been staying in for the past year is quite cramped. We've had several incidents where one of us (including Wallace) has knocked over a piece of lighting equipment and subsequently broken it.

So we began our search.

We started looking at three bedroom houses, thinking that the third bedroom would serve as an office space/set space...

And on that very same day that we started looking, we sent out requests to view at least 20 different houses that were up for rent. We didn't have to wait long before we received a call from one of the owners and were invited to view... the house that had been our top pick.

This house has three bedrooms, and an extra living-room space located downstairs, which is conveniently set within a hill.

The noise-cancellation is perfectly conducive to a loudly-speaking YouTube channel host with a knack for playing the drums.

It has a fenced in yard and a separate fenced in pool area!

The yard even has four different fruit trees, so I can wake up and harvest my breakfast in the mornings! Wallace will feel safe enough to do his duties, and the pool is 8ft deep!

The third bedroom is a bonus.

Now we can host our family members when they come to visit!

Two-car garage!

The garage is not only huge, it's been modified. It includes a work bench, and built onto the wall is a set of drawers for small tools. On the opposite wall, the owner has installed shelving for extra storage space.

Speaking of storage space...

The owner has modified various closets in ways that maximize the space, and there is no shortage of closets!

Our bathroom has a double vanity!

It's no secret that Omar takes hours to get himself ready in the mornings. Now I won't have to wait, I can just walk in to pat down my hair and then walk right out any time I like, while he combs and applies product and combs some more...

There are more windows than there is wall-space.

Okay, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but the multitude of windows really lets in a great deal of sunlight, which is healthy for everyone. Our current living space in the tiny apartment is surrounded by other buildings which block out most of the light. It can be quite dreary. I'm really looking forward to spending some time out in the sun by the pool, and taking advantage of the sunlight that gets into the house by filling the space with potted plants to purify the air and improve general mood.

We will be signing the lease papers tonight, and are free to begin moving in any time.

I can barely contain my excitement!

Elle! I didn't know you were on here, too! <3

Oh yay! I'm happy to have found you! It's looking like almost all of our are here, we are only just starting to find each other.

Edit: I just love that we are both Marie. ^_^

That is really great news- I have been seeing the struggle for space in the videos. Now Wallace will have a whole yard to play and dig around. Dogs do get bored in apartments. Omar will also be happy with the youtube room and you are right-sunshine brightens moods and makes everything lively. I am happy for all of you- Good luck :)

Thank you!!! We just got back from signing the lease agreements, and we got the keys. We are all green to move in over the next month as comfortably as we please. We have Kenn Bosak @kennethbosak coming next week to hang out and conduct an interview, so he's volunteered to also help us along in the move while he's here. Everyone that we have met over the years in the crypto space has been a true blessing in our lives. Thank you for sharing in the fruits of our labor! Very happy to have you along, as well.

That is great....looking forward to the interview with @kennethbosak :)

Lovely family pictures Elle and Omar.

(Fingers Crossed)

Hope You and Omar will get the house!

Very cool of you to help documenting everything for the channel and your blogs.

Keep STEEM N ON,
Frank

Congrats! Enjoy!

Hope the move goes well for you guys!

Thank you!! We're torn between dedicating time to the Crypt0 show, and dropping everything to just move in right now! haha... Realistically, we have an entire month to move in. It's only our enthusiasm that causes us to want to stay up all night packing!

But no, we don't intend to drop everything. ;) We're going to behave, and be patient, and take our time to get settled in, all while delivering the Crypt0's News show! In all honesty, we do need this show's revenue now more than ever. I thank you so very much for supporting us here on steemit. It's so rewarding to receive this kind of support for sharing a bit of our life story.

I'm happy for you guys. That will be a lot of independence now!

I don't imagine that renting a house will be much different from renting an apartment, though lol Independence is usually something that's gained from moving out of your parent's house, which we did more than ten years ago.

interesting post, d'not forget to stop by

How much? What area? (if you don't mind me asking)

I am in Redondo Beach and looking for a 2-3 bedroom house.
Everything here is so expensive.
