Well I have only gone and done it !!
**
I got the ferry on Wednesday night and arrived about six in the morning and there was an amazing sunrise quite quick into my journey that my photo does not give justice to, but instantly makes you remember some of the reasons why you make these mad decisions.
I drove and drove and my car was going very well for an old golf and luxury after doing it previously in A's land drover, but fifty miles before home and luckily when I had got off motorways my breaks failed . I had to go ridiculously slowly the rest of the way lightly pumping the breaks which still worked a tiny bit as long as you didn't need to completely stop or sop quickly and praying I wouldn't end up going down a steep country road. I had to try and ignore the chain of angry drivers behind me.
Well I made it to my vendors house with an hour to go before I had to be in Perigeaux to sign for the 300 year old ruin me and A had decided on last summer.
His son had to drive us and we made it with a minute to spare so now we are the proud , mad , stupid owners of a ruin which we have no money to do up and its f''''king freezing out here. What were we thinking !!!!
Cant wait for A to get here now, because even though it all looks like a bad idea and I think we have bitten off more than we can chew, we will make something of it and just the trying will be worth it rather than taking the easier road of staying in England .
Follow our renovations . And let me know what you think.
Any tips on renovating on a ridiculously small budget would be very welcome!!
Bon courage pour les travaux. Tu peux faire un chantier participatif.
