Anonymity is not something which was invented with the Internet. It has been used for many purposes. Talking to someone or a complete stranger in the internet gives people freedom to express their thoughts towards a certain topic. It even gives people the luxury of expressing their feelings to someone without being embarassed.

Due to advancing technology, there are lots of ways or applications developed that provide this kind of luxury in the internet. Best example for this are those online dating apps where you can chat/talk to strangers anonymously.

One of them is the NearGroup app/bot. NearGroup is an online chat dating app that uses chatbot to connect with people nearby, join group chats, follow live stories and conversations without revealing your identity. The app gains popularity in the Philippines and other countries through Facebook sharing where users share invitations and their stories anonymously.
I interviewed few people who use this app/bot on Messenger.
Their common denominator is that they are looking for a boyfriend/girlfriend basically, because some of them came from a recent breakup and some just want to befriend people online.
While using this, they were able to tell how they felt about their breakup, how they moved on or how are they moving on.
The good thing about NearGroup is that it puts limitations to its users avoiding them from uaing inappropriate language and avoid the conversation te become sexual.
