Each of us has, undoubtedly, heard repeatedly saying, "Don't judge the book by its covers".
These words have a profound meaning for me. They remind me of a huge number of people who, from their pure habit, and with extraordinary joy, create opinions about those whom they don't know anything about. They remind me to look for potential in those people whom many have given up before they had the opportunity to meet them, or they simply refused this opportunity.
In this way (with an open heart) I met many good people, whom I can today easily call my friends, and I'm proud of them being part of my life. But I am also proud of myself and for myself, and for my ability not to make harsh trials towards people I don't know.
Way too much energy is used to condemn people and negative thinking. This is not good for anyone. It is much more beautiful to walk around the world of open mind and heart, with the joy of new acquaintances. You never know - maybe the person you are about to create the most misconceptions, one day, is right for you.
*Thanks to @brumest and a #monomad contest she is hosting, I can publish also monochrome photo made with my Nikon Coolpix P510 with a color splash.
Every path has its puddle. Keep spirited
This is a good one - I never heard of it, but I'll write it down! Thank you!
That is one of the things I love about Steemit @emmamia - that I get to meet lots of people that I wouldn't normally meet in my everyday life.
Also, because we don't really have a visual picture to go on it's an opportunity to make fewer snap judgements about someone that we might normally make based on age etc. 😊
Beautiful photograph to express your thoughts with. I love the black and white background.
Exactly. This is a beauty of a digital world, which connects us all here. Without any judgments, we see in people what they are capable of. You wrote it so well.
Thank you @emmamia! 😊
When we open our hearts ... beautiful things come our way!
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you... A simple thing to do, but for some so hard to achieve.
very nice photo
Thank you.
I agree with this statements "Way too much energy is used to condemn people and negative thinking. This is not good for anyone. It is much more beautiful to walk around the world of open mind and heart, with the joy of new acquaintances. You never know - maybe the person you are about to create the most misconceptions, one day, is right for you."
Thanks!
Great thoughts... :)
I start follow you ´cause I want have post like this in my daily feed :)
Thank you. I'll do my best to post such blogs more often. But hope you don't mind if I can't do it frequently. Have a nice day and thank you for your follow.
Spot on. Judgment is like an epidemic. For some reason, some of us always know the recipe to other's life. No one is perfect and when we open our minds, we open the door for relationships which can lead to great things and experiences. Thank you for sharing this
Epidemic in the true meaning of the word... Thank you for coming around.
To me energy is equal to chain reaction. Negative brings more negativity, positive more positivity to people around us.
You are right. Being positive is the key.
Preconceived ideas of what someone is like based on how they look, where they are from or even based on what others have said about a person is all too common. It makes for an uncomfortable situation.
I've been judged as I am sure many have. For me, the worst is being judged on something I say without being able to qualify what I meant vs what the other person heard. This kind of judgement and condemnation festers and generates more upset. It's frustrating and a joy robber.
It's so important for us to not run and talk to other people about a matter before settling it with the one you believe offended you. You may find out there was nothing to be upset about at all.
Most times the offensive thing one sees in another is the very thing they don't like about themselves.
How's that for muddling through your Happiness #60?? lol
I loved your roses btw. I was looking for a nice quote for them but couldn't find an appropriate one to go with the post. Maybe I'll find one another time. Have a great weekend @emmamia and hope you are on the mend.
Same same... I couldn't write it better girl!
And yeah...60 already... I'm starting to think what I'll do when I finish my 101. You all will be tired of the topic, but I will definitely need something new and refreshing... Luckily 41 to go... :)
And don't worry about the quote for me. Usually, when you need something you will not remember, but when you don't need it anymore it just comes in our mind. Enjoy your last hours of Sunday, and a beautiful start of new week.
That a brilliant selective color shot!
It's in my honor to read this from you. Thank you!
