Easter is here, and for many years now, I'm in charge of "coloring" Easter eggs. During all this time I tried many different techniques, but this one is still one of my favorites.
All you need are eggs, nylon pantyhose, some interesting leaves from nature, vinegar, red onion peels, and water.
I usually cut the wide part of pantyhose, and just "stuff" the legs with eggs, on which I carefully place the leaves. I make a tight node between them, so the leaves stay still during cooking.
I put some onion peels in the bottom of the pot, then some eggs on them, and repeat so all the eggs are surrounded with peels.
I add the water with few spoons of vinegar and cover them all. I cook them for about 10minutes. This times I forgot, that the eggs are a bit smaller, and I cooked them too long. U usually leave them overnight to cool down, so the color stands out even more. But this year, I was on a tight schedule, so I waited just a few hours.
After cooling down I removed the nylon and leaves and oiled the eggshells, so they became even shinier.
With those photos, made with my smartphone Samsung A5 I want to participate in @juliank's #macrophotography contest. Happy Easter to all!

Thanks. I'm glad you like it!
Beautiful job! Thanks for showing us how to do this. I was fascinated. I see what look like purple onion skins? would the browns ones do a nice a job?
Thank you.
They would do the job, but I really recomend white eggs. We used them previous years, but the intensity of the color didn't have such waw factor. You can read here about the onions we used for coloring. Maybe you should ask on the market and find some.
