My wife is having a hard time dealing with my disability, maybe even more than I am. As many of you saw she just graced me with a new fish tank. She said it was to get the fish out of her kitchen but in all honesty, it was so I could enjoy my fish. The way my back is messed up I don't get around the house too much anymore. She knows I love my fish so she got the new tank so I would not have to figure out how to move my current tank from the kitchen to my office.
She graced me with puppies hoping they would cause me to get up and walk more. They help a little with getting up after everyone else has gone to bed but I rely on the kids during the day to help walk them. They don't mind as they love to play with puppies as any normal kid would.
She honestly tries to make my life as easy as possible as I try to get through the day and doctors and all of the fucking meds they have me on. I decided today that I am going to swallow my pride and get a walker to make getting around easier. I have always been the provider and currently, I can't even really be the helper in our house.
As many of you know I have reverted to playing video games a lot as they do not require me to move too much. I can sit in my chair and play with the kids as well as with my friends. I was even having some success getting some pretty good votes via @dlive before they up and left the platform. Now I am back to regular, life sharing posts that don't happen to pay as well. That is fine, I love Steemit and the fun I have here has saved me from a lot of mental pain wallowing in self-pity as I can't get around.
I have been having an issue with my gaming these past few weeks as I have to use a different set of headphones with each controller I have. This isn't really a big deal as far as gaming goes but it is kind of a pain in the ass as medication makes me forget which controller works with which headset.
My wife enjoying her new role as provider and spoiler picked me up a set of wireless headphones last week. I was excited and had my son plug them in so they could charge. I waited until later that night and tried them out. They were awesome until I sat in my chair. Once I sat down they cut out.....WTF?!? Okay, back on the charger, they must not be charged yet.
I waited until the next day to try them again. Same thing, as soon as I sat in my chair they cut out. I told her they had to go back as they were broken. As I thought about it I told her to get the same pair again but to be honest it was probably the USB port on my PS4 from where it had fallen before with a wireless USB plugged into it. She said okay and went to exchange them.
Leave it to my wife to pull a me, she returned home with not only a new set of wireless headphones but a whole new PS4. LOL, this is exactly the type of thing I would have done to her before I was injured. I do really love her for her thoughtfulness but I am returning it. Switching headphones is much easier than feeling like I made her waste $400 on a new PS4. I am just happy to know my wife still loves me deeply and is trying to make my life as easy as possible. I often wonder if she will grow tired of me not being able to do all the things I used to do before all of this.
She's an awesome woman, she really is.
I'd also say you're a lucky man but it takes two to tango...you must've been a terrific husband on your feet and she's simply repaying the favor.
Hope the walker makes things easier.
Can't wait for you to get back to gaming on steemit, not too much of a fan these days but you certainly were having loads of fun...and cuss words
She is more than I deserve, always has been. I am very lucky she puts up with me.
We tango a lot, that hurts but I don't let her know.
The walker will enable me to do more, it's a good thing.
I need to figure out where it's best to stream again and I will be back soon. My room has been cleaned up this week. (A lot of my stuff got thrown out) So I will have a whole new setup when you see me stream again.
Nice
oh man, i never knew... a healthy river flows. so being active is the key. you can overcome anything! we trust in you.
maybe specific exercises could help you walk more. if you can walk now, there is no reason Not to keep on trying to walk more. i bet you can run a bit too if you want. i believe in you.
I'm not giving up. I plan to use the walker to take the dogs around the neighborhood. I am not a quitter.
