THE SAD REALITY OF PARENT ABUSE

in #life7 years ago

We always heard stories of child abuse but what about parent abuse? Yes, this kind of thing exists wherein the child is showing cruelty towards his own parent. Basically, the most vulnerable to this situation is the mother because a mom has a soft heart and more attached to her children. On the contrary, the father is more on giving discipline so when a teenager disrespects his dad face to face, it can lead to serious arguments.

It is often concluded that a rebellious teen is a product of broken family or has experienced maltreatment before. Although it can be a factor, there are also other reasons behind this tragedy. There are teen abusers who were raised with love and proper upbringing, so it is really surprising when this child ended up as a rude man with inhumane characters.

What are the signs of parent abuse?

Emotional abuse

A teen is deliberately disobeying his parent. It is when he refused to attend classes, going home drunk, using prohibited drugs and act as if he owns the authority in the house. He no longer listens to his parent and even trying to take all the control of every decision.

Verbal Abuse

The child is humiliating his parent in front of other family members or in other people by using cursing words and yelling at them. He calls his parent on intimidating names instead of calling them “mom and dad”. The child is also sending harsh messages whether through text or chat.

Physical Abuse

This is the harmful stage when there’s a physical contact happening. It can be in the way of punching, slapping, and kicking. The scariest part is when the abuser starts pointing a knife, gun, and other dangerous weapons. It is life-threatening that can cause a bloody drama inside the family.

This behavior is sometimes obtained from too much exposure of the child to violent computer games, movies with many killings, and music that teaches aggression. We are now living in a modern world of advanced technology but without the proper guidance from the adult, the teenager is susceptible to imitate the things that he had seen on his gadgets.

We must never take for granted the early signs of parent abuse. It is easier to handle and correct the wrongdoings at the beginning of the course of an event. Unlike if we just let the things passed by, it might be too late to help the child. Entertainments that offer unacceptable deeds can poison the mind of everyone specially the younger generations so it is necessary to be aware and alert all the time.

In my opinion, I still believe that the best way to prevent it from happening is the thorough guidance on the child’s everyday cycle such as what type of friend does he have and what type of hobby he does. It will let us determine if he is contaminated by any undesirable manners and from that, we can act accordingly. We all desire for a peaceful life and it’s up to us on how to be responsible in our choices, let’s choose wisely.

yes thanks my dear good friend. hopefully you also menyenagkan in your days

Well explained.
Sometimes the cause of these attitudes mostly acquired through the type of friends a person has.
If someone hangouts with friends with many vices and had a bad behavior, most probably it will give a big influence towards his/her attitude in the future. That's in my opinion.

Great Article anyway..Cheers!
