The bed has just been finished! I'm pretty happy with it and have lots of ideas for the next iteration.
It is built to expand and contract a little. If storage gets tight you can easily keep it folded and put stuff around it.

now things get interesting

Systems

  1. Sleep: Bed Frame, Futon and blankets, Window Blackout
  2. Cooking: Stove mount, Quick meal heater, Dry food storage
  3. Wardrobe: Must fit in trunk, Must be warm, athletic casual, business, and easy to maintain

Purpose

I thought I'd briefly talk about my reasons for pursuing this life. It's the sort of living that has become glamorized and very popular on Instagram. And not for good reason. I mean you can spend $600 a month or less while having all the things you need and not being bound by leases or a physical location. Suddenly minimum wage work can fund a sustainable life.

Of course you must keep in mind the costs that this requires, in time and comfort. But from my perspective, the opportunity to work in any city I want; and the ability to build wealth, is too tempting to ignore.

Sort:

I did this with an 01 sienna. I got a folding cot, bungeed it to the chair hooks, and got plastic totes the right size to slide under it.

I installed a fantastic vent fan in the roof. The wires came down thru the toolkit compartment and i clamped them to an extra battery under the bed when i was traveling. Having that fan made it so much more comfortable.

For The windows, i cut pieces of reflectix and pressed them in place when needed. The rest of the time i slid them under the mattress.

I hung a curtain on a dowel behind the front seats.

I like it! Simple and straightforward, that cot looks rather comfy too.
