After bringing my friends to the station I came home and checked my computer.
I got some messages from people asking me if I'm worried about the future of Steemit/steem blockchain because of the price going down.
The answer is no.
I just see this as a healthy correction to an insane uptrend and I'm hoping to acquire more STEEM if the price will reach $1.
When it comes to Steemit there is something funny though.
In my last 14 posts, I only used the Steemit frontend 3 times to create a post. (not comments, I prefer steemit.com and busy.org for that).
The other 11 posts I made with dtube, dlive and steepshot.

I've been buying more here and there on the way down here. Have $2k sitting there if we hit $1, but not sure it will. Plan to add more this week at whatever current market price is, maybe another 100sp. Know it's small amounts to some people, but each time I pull cash from our house I need to make it up somewhere....means more work for me.
But I believe long term we are sitting on something with real value and want to get myself up to a point that my vote has an impact on someones post. Love when someone stops by and drops a $1-2 vote even on my posts...it's really appreciated and makes my day. So being able to do that down the road is my goal.
I'm in the same boat. I had a bit of a bump personal crisis to handle the past 14 days or else i would certainly have doubled my steem by dipping into the family kitty. One should stay positive while also playing a balancing act. it is wise.
We've had multiple things back to back including getting hit by an uninsured driver and a major sewer issue. Between them we took a couple big hits, but that is part of life. So now just been buying 50 here, 100 there and whatever I can pull every couple weeks. Think that if I can get 5,000 that would be a great jumping point.
I like your positive attitude. It's not a time to power down. It's a time to do hard effort to make this community more power. Steem is a home of 0.9 million steemians our collective effort will help to bost this community. Steem blockchain is not all about steemit but it also provide a wide variety of platform like Dtube, Dlive , Steepshot etc with so many project and expected 1.0 million user in May there is no need to get panic. Hopefully it will rise soon. All we need is to show patience and HODL. One big reason of declining steem price is FUD in market and a lot of selling. it creates frustration to many steemians I like your positive attitude it will give new hope to 14 K plus followers. There is going to be much more infrastructure surrounding STEEM the next time the bull run comes. I think the way to pick projects in slow times is to see what still have development and an active community around it. Steem fits into that category more than just about anything else. The next bull run is going to target the places that have been working hard regardless of price.
It's funny how people are scared to buy when the price is low, but then moan when the price moons, wishing they should have bought when it was cheap. LOL
In the first place, it don't matter actually , if you're a long term investor it's always a good news to you, and if you're a short term investor it's a bad news for you.
1$ steem? Ouch !!! Im always surprised wen I see steem under 2$.
I think that even if steemit would have 5 million accounts it could still go down to 1.5$ because it all depends on the price of bitcoin. Whats hard to understand is the rapid correlation between the price of btc and steem wen btc drops even if there is alot of steempower. If steem goes over 5$ again I will be taking profits this time.
The last point you made is huge and something content creators that believe in this platform should remember...
We are still getting the coins / tokens!
It may only be worth $1.50 right now but wow....We still get the coin!
Now what happens if this does start picking up again and reaches $10 or higher....That's why like you said, keep creating content now!

but then...I sit back...and consider those who have a hundred times, perhaps a thousand times, more invested in Steem than I do and a GREAT DEAL more technical expertise.
I suspect they'll do everything that they can to insure the health of the ecosystem.
True, we should not expect Steem to just go in one direction, this is indeed a healthy correction, which gives equal opportunity to those who could not invest in Steem when the prices were high.
We should create content on Steemit for fun, not just for money! Without joy there will be no motivation, hence you will be disappointed when price goes down! Don't expect you will rewarded for your posts always- You never know when it happens and therefore work continuously for your success!
Yes. I think it was pretty clear that the 7+ dollars we hit was not going to last forever. I think it is not unlikely for us to reach those heights again, but that was just too much too soon.
It can happen again very soon, Steem can gain 50-100% in a day!

Very glad you see you are not worried @exyle because this is also how I see it, almost daily I get someone who mentions the price going down so much is scary and bad for steemit, I always say no because its such a good opportunity for some, today steem as gone back up but I was indeed in hope it would go down further so I could get some more.
Some people have a hard time waiting. They want to see immediate results. They are not going to get that with Steemit right now. I agree, that we need to be patient and wait. It will improve, just in time.
I’m not worried as well, just getting that feeling of restlessness when the price is low. Rationally speaking, I think we’ll see much gains in the near future, so buying more (if you can afford it) is a wise thing to do imho.
Well it's heading up for now. Maybe the update from the team will boost confidence. People need to see signs of progress.
I am also waiting for sbd to be at usd 1, i have some cash for investing in Steemit 😊 btw, my first witness vote just went to blockbrothers ☺

Everyone's payouts have gone down but you still earn (relatively) the same amount of STEEM. (not SBD).
Rough example (not including beneficiary rewards or curator rewards).
A payout worth $20 at $2 STEEM = 5 STEEM + 10 SBD.
A payout worth $10 at $1 STEEM = 5 STEEM + 5 SBD.
Thanks @exyle. After I'd posted this I remembered what you told me about the relative price of Bitcoin and Steem and I thought it might be a similar principle. However, until recently we weren't being paid in Steem were we? It was just SBD and SP.
Or in this case is SP the same as Steem except one is liquid and the other isn't?

You are right about the future of steem block chain...this is a needed correction and a great opportunity to buy in at a low price. I feel that we have now reached the bottom and soon the prices will start rising again.

I am one of the people who hope the steem price to go around $1 or below.. so I can cost average especially I bought on the hype.
I was feeling down coz price went down at the beginning, but after I realized the real value and future of steem blockchain ( with the increasing valuable dapps, and dedicated large dev community ) , I wish price go down a little bit to buy more and cost average my stack
