All I knew about pressure cookers before meeting Bianca is that they were scary as shit.
My dad is a huge Steam train lover and he has shown me pictures of a train who's boiler exploded when I was a kid. Flying through the air for miles (according to him). Pressure and no relief valve = BOOM!
For me, pressure cookers resemble the same thing. You don't want to be near it when it explodes.
Now apparently pressure cookers are a thing in Brasil. They love em. You can find them from the poor to the rich.
When Bianca came to my house for the first time I think she was extremely surprised I didn't have one. Such a crucial cooking device.
After some pressure from her side, I decided to buy one (or I overcame my fear). I bought one with 2 or 3 safety valves because no way I was going to die by pressure cooker in my thirties.
I fell in love with the thing. Opening the relief valve after cooking for the first time was scary because it makes a ton of noise but the meals that come out of that pan are amazing.
Especially meat. Meat that normally needs to cook for 4-5 hours to become tender you can cook in the pressure cooker in 30 minutes.
Bianca's birthday is tomorrow so we went to Butcher Schell to buy some nice sausages for her party Saturday. But while being there she saw these beautiful beef ribs. We took them home and she cooked them in the pressure cooker for us.
It was amazing. Let me show you.
The ribs at the Butcher. Bianca's ask the butcher to cut them into 2-3 cm pieces.
This is what they look like after cutting. Notice the bone. It gives a ton of flavor.
Get your pressure cooker and put in butter and fry some garlic and onions.
Add the meat and give it some color. Then add water and salt.
Close the lid. And leave it to cook for 30 minutes.
When you open the pressure it looks like this! Amazing!
End result
And a video with the end result! It was delicious.

I love pressure cookers. They are way more useful compared to other things like slow cookers despite the fear that one day it might go boom haha.
I've been using a pressure cooker for a while and it easily deals with vegetables rather than a slow cooker, which tends to make them mushy.
I used to cook some vegetables before in a slow cooker before and I saw that they would start to fall apart and not taste as good as they normally are.
Another thing I love about pressure cookers rather than a slow cooker is that a pressure cooker lets you brown and sauté right in the pressure cooker itself rather than making things more complicated.
The rice and beef ribs look absolutely delicious. I'm glad that she could introduce something that will probably revolutionise your world @exyle haha
Sound like you are a good chef yourself, man!
Not as good as you on the grill :)
I might make a few food blogs but my food doesn't tend to be as visually appealing as yours haha
Brilliant!!!!
You should visit Kolkata,India sometime then I will treat you to some tasty food cooked in pressure cooker. Here we have amazing fish recipes which you should try at least once in your life time. here people live to eat. I wrote this message based on the context of what you posted I mean rice and meat curry. I will watch the video after I am done with my work for publishing my #openmic entry for this week. I am late already. :)
Man, I would love to visit but in the meantime, I would love to see what you eat and how you prepare it!
Cooking is something I am far far away from, I just love to see others cook. But I will give it a try as you asked. :)

Pressure cookers are great. I used to be afraid of them exploding until I started using one. I bought an electric multi-function pressure cooker which was great since you can do some many more things with it like cook rice and make yogurt.
Could you give me a link? That sounds interesting.
Yes, of course. This is the one I bought:
https://www.amazon.com/Instant-Pot-Multi-Use-Programmable-Stainless/dp/B01B1VC13K/ref=sr_1_1?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1501209954&sr=1-1&keywords=instant+pot
There's actually a couple versions of it made by different manufacturers. The great thing about this one compared to the traditional stove tops ones you can vary the time and pressure to cook different types of food without having to constantly monitor a stove. Another large advantage of this one is it actually gets hot enough to saute and brown food which makes it a lot more useful compared to many slow cookers (another device it can replace if you decide not to cook with pressure).
Those beef ribs looking yummy. Especially when you cook them in pressure cooker. Pressure cooker makes beef every tender and kind of way tasty to eat. In India, we use pressure cooker for our normal day to day food. It saves us a lot of time. A great electrical I would say,
Anyways this cooking lesson was great as always. Looking forward to your tomorrow's recepie.
True, pressure cooker lessen the cooking time by almost 50% for beef and lamb...The recipe looks incredibly delicious! Good Job...
Also on potatoes! 6-7 min and done.
That looks very yummy I must say, the pressure is awesome for making pulled pork, the meats slides right off the bone. If I may add you should def add more veggies to that dish, meat and grain is kind of cavemanish lol.
Yesterday I had a vegetable overload, so I had to compensate.
wow good now u r a full expert in it and i think a good cook @exyle
I thought a pressure cooker was only for boiling stuff like potatoes or cauliflower. Didn't know you can actually make stews with it. Learned something new! Peace!
you and me both man. Until I met Bianca.
I wonder if you could cook pork ribs in the pressure cooker, then finish them on the BGE?
I have a pressure cooker but rarely use it.
I asked Bianca and she said this is done in Brasil. It makes the BGE heart glow :)
You married a very smart woman!!!
Pressure cookers are brilliant if a long lost way to cook for many people. They make great saving in power usage as the cook food so fast. They are also a great tool for making tasty stews and soups as well as been able to cook large joints of meal
They're really good!
We have one of these:
http://www.instantpot.co.uk/product/instant-pot-duo-8-litre-electric-pressure-cooker-220v/
It has a timer so you can leave the house whilst it does the cooking, which is definitely the safest option.
that thing looks great! Have you posted any recipe with it on Steemit?
It is very convenient. I haven't as yet, but perhaps I will in the future.
Happy Birthday to Bianca and a Brazilian feijoada would be great for the party :) Wonder.
Man! I love Brazilian feijoada!
That looks awesome! I have always been terrified of them too but this changes my mind!!
Truth be told I thought people just used them to make potatoes fast. But this is next lvl cooking man!
I see them on cooking shows all the time but that big steam spout out of the vent at the top always makes me think DANGER!!
Your tasty ribs flying through the air for miles reaching the moon and then BOOM!!!
HAHAHAHA, man, you crack me up.
Amazing things you can cook on a pressure cooker if you know how. From steamed rice to chicken stew to lamb curry and what not. Try this dish called "Mutton Biryani", if you like eating rice with meat.
I looked up the recipe. That looks like something I would love!
My favorite dish. Serves best with nonsweetened yoghurt.
Looks great, but what happened, no green egg cooking??
Al I remember about a pressure cooker is my aunt who cooked something, which did not end well for the poor canary which was in the kitchen when the thing exploded!!
LOL! the canary in the kitchen is a good indication the pressure cooker exploded. Green egg almost every day man., but the girlfriend sometimes wants to eat something else.
This looks delicious. My mother-in-law gave me one many years ago when I was first married. I have had several since then and they are terrific. Just need to be careful and follow the directions.
Delicious!! I've owned an InstaPot for nearly 10 months now and only used it once. I know it works great, but I haven't gotten into it like I want.
Good food makes the heart of a mortal man rejoice, @exlye i always enjoy your articles and videos on food .
Tell Bianca it looks incredibly delicious! My wife is a big fan of pressure cookers also and will fix a roast, pork chops or BBQ at least once every couple of weeks. We just bought a pork butt on Sunday and she made an incredible shredded pork bbq. I'm not skilled in the ways of the pressure cooker so I leave that to her. I do really love how tender the meat gets when cooked in one of these though and you're able to do it fairly quickly. Have a great night brother!
seriously what better than a pressure cooker in the kitch ???????i use mine at least once a week >>>>>>>>best gift i ever got
Looks very taste thanks for sharing :) Perhaps I will buy one soon. Never really thought about it until now! :0)*
So you're cooking something delicious 😋
Seems Yummy
That looks so tasty... Bet the beef falls right off the bone from the slow cook :)

Wow, that looks very tasty !
UpVoted but now i'm verrrrry hungry 😭😭😭!

I don't own a green egg but would like one. But I do have an electric "one pot" that has been a life saver. Makes the most delicious meats, stews soups and bread too.
Man you got your tools straight! Do uou already have a bread making machine? I can recommend you one.
Yum its appetizing. I am feeling hungry just looking at it

Pressure cookers are awesome!
We have been using them for a long time and they make quicker and more efficient work of pretty much anything you would cook in a pot!
I am now following you and actually just featured your crypto post in my special crypto mania ~(~Q2C2~)~ Episode!
Keep up the great work, I look forward to a lot more great content from you!
SteemON!
Looks delicious! We grew up using pressure canners to preserve garden goodies and meat as well. I've never cooked with one like this though. Great article! :)
