This week can be filed under one of the craziest weeks on the Steem blockchain for me.
I have been here for a while (Since July 2016) and saw some crazy shit but this week is right up there.
Steem went up and down like a rollercoaster making my portfolio swing with tens of thousands of dollars.
An insane amount. And hard to comprehend at times for me.
Then SBD went up to $12 making the payouts of everyone that blogs on Steemit so much higher. (And still, it's hovering around $9)
And amidst all that chaos we ( @blockbrothers) were in the clinch with Apple trying to get our app Steemify approved.
All in one week!
Great success!
But we succeeded and Apple approved the app late last night!
I was already sleeping when our developer @bennierex got the good news at 1 am.
He was ecstatic on our private channel and I missed it! I'm getting too old...lol
But when I saw the message in the morning I jumped out of bed straight away. The other guys were already awake to ( @s3rg3 and @eqko).
The whole day we have been busy launching our app Steemify.
Here you can see it in the App Store. It's real!
Now, It's Saturday evening and @eqko, the guy in the picture, just left for home where he will help his wife make her first post for Steemit. (slowly they are all converted, lol)
But first, we had some pizza and beers to celebrate today! (Something you should always do when you encounter success IMHO.)
Already we have over a hundred downloads in the App Store and it's climbing.
That's pretty successful in my book! We are very happy.
But it wasn't easy. The app bounced 3 times before it got approved.
Apple runs a tight ship when it comes to apps. Which is great for the end user but sometimes tough for the developers.

I'm so glad the app is finally done. But we can't rest now. Going up the witness list is a tough cookie and you can't sit still. We are already working on something new.
But not tonight...no...tonight we celebrate!

Can't imagine what it would be like to see your money fluctuate that much!! I am just here for 3 days now, trying to see if my photography would be appropriated! Sko far so good I guess. If you ever have free time on your hands I would love to talk about your steem experience. Just one hour by train from Amsterdam, so that's a minor investment in order to maybe learn a lot! Congratulations on your app approval! Have been working for an app developer myself last year and I know what a trouble Apple can give you!

Yep. One of the downloaders (as promised!). Spent ages putting my follow list in and am now all set up!
Also used the market for the first time to trade to get some Steem and then steempower. Looking forward to my up arrow actually doing something one day!

I could imagine how your account looks like! With 500 SP account I also feel awesome, and I could imagine how you feel about it! As you said before we should keep our faith on this block chain! Steem supply is little high, otherwise everything is okay to bring this Block Chain to the next level! But SBD got that potential, with it's less supply it can reach higher!
At the end I wish great luck for your Block Brothers projects! Those are absolutely a brilliant work!

I have been buying my way down this slope for days now. I have a lot of cheap STEEM now. I was setting orders and they just filled as the price dropped.
So now I'm thinking I should take some of that STEEM and sell my way back up? Like set sell at .40, .50, .60 etc up to some large number. Then when (if) the sbd price stabilizes - won't I make money again on the way up? Or am I thinking wrong?
I already went from value of $300 to about $750 in the last days or however long this has been going on.
2+ of your free faucet STEEMS are in this big pile I'm sitting on. I am forever grateful to you and I'm going to go get what's in there soon again.

The account value is based on a Steem price average of 3.5 days. STEEM went up so much this week and that's why your account value went up so much these last days.
You did well buy STEEM with SBD. I have done the same. The price of STEEM did not drop btw....the price of SBD went up 10x so that's why it feels that STEEM was cheaper while it was not in USD.
You can indeed buy back sbd when it drops back and then you have more SBD then you had before. Me, I'm keeping the STEEM I bought. I think it's a dream come through being able to buy more STEEM with these SBD prices.
Well, for me - I'm thinking increasing the value of my account is important. So I have like 150 STEEM now and I would only sell maybe 30-40.
Will you keep buying STEEM all the way back up to $1 assuming that's how we go? Should I only sell over a dollar? My average cost is probably about 20 cents for what I have now. So If I sold at .40, wouldn't that double the money again?
This is all "free" money so to speak, if you count my labor for it's usual zero :)
I'm also completely stuck in here, so I was going to use some of this bonanza to open a few wallets so I can at least get money out if I ever want to. Steemit is my first entry to crypto and I have just been ignoring the money side until now for the mot part. I have just tried to maximize rewards over time, but there was not enough to even think of using some until now.
My son has a wallet and I transferred $25 sbd to him a few months ago but it is stuck in his coinbase wallet for whatever his problem is. It's in btc, so maybe he is rich by now. Then I transferred some SBD to @mariannewest and she converted to USD and drove it over to my kid since she is in the same city. That was a very successful transfer but not scale-able :)

These past 2 months has been the best for me too, both on steemit and crypto. We all have to pause atimes to celebrate once in a while. Getting that app approved is not really easy i understand you when you say that. I can relate. Congrats on that.
Good to hear steemify is now officially on Apple store. I don't have an iPhone,so I'll just have to wait for the android version. Pizza and a drink is a sure way to celebrate,bronging such a crazy week to a closure.
I am a newbie and have not got into Bitcoin yet but I am learning about the literal ups and downs of the volatility of it. In any case, I don't really have enough to invest yet.
I hope the next week will be as productive as this, at least, 50 percent.
