The brain is that part which handles all functions of our body but we don't even care about this organ. We spent time in beautifying and satisfying the needs of the whole body except the brain. At least somebody realizes the need to strengthen and improve the capabilities of the brain and I really appreciate your effort. Agree with you on all aspects except for meditation.
I think meditation is the most important factor among all as stated above but meditation is far far more than that which you stated in your post. Sitting in silence would not help you eradicate all your thoughts and concentrating on your breaths would may last for few moments. Many people get frustrated while trying to meditate in this way and ending in getting nothing rather tension.
We don't need to manage special time for meditation, rather we can meditate in each and every situation by just being aware of our surroundings and focusing on what we are doing. Yes, "Being Aware" of every situation and relaxing your mind from past memories or future panics is real meditation.
