Hello steemian friends, how are you? May you all be healthy and happy!
This time I want to share information about mango trees that do not bear fruit because the flowers fall out. Mango or mempelam, the scientific name Mangifera indica, we in Aceh call it "mamplam", the fruit has a sweet taste when it is ripe, but sour if not cooked.
I plant three types of mango trees in the home yard. Mango gadung, sweet arum (arum manis), and golek. Tree mango gadung and arum manis, about two meters apart, and less than two meters from a ditch on the side of a public road in front of my house. While the mango golek trees are about two meters from my house building, or about seven meters from the sweet arum mango tree and mango gadung tree.
Tree mango gadung, arum manis, and golek are now about five years old. Of the three mango trees, only the mango golek tree that has been fruitful, and even then only once when he was three years more. The fruit of mango golek is very sweet. Surprisingly, in the fourth year, the mango tree of golek did not bear fruit anymore.
Strangely again, the mango gadung tree and arum manis never bear fruit despite being around five years old. Every year the mango gadung tree and arum manis emit a very large flower. But all the flowers are blackened and fall so that the remaining edge of the branch only, there is no fertilization.
I was very surprised. Why mango gadung and arum manis, the flowers fall out so it does not become a fruit?
When the mango tree was three years old, some of my neighbors said the possibility of water shortage and fertilizer so that the mango tree in my yard does not bear fruit. In the fourth year, I water regularly to the roots of the two mango trees. After months of watering on a regular basis, the mango tree is still unfruitful.
In addition to watering regularly, I also give (put) manure (cow dung) in the roots of mango trees. A few months later, I also bought artificial fertilizers (organic fertilizers), including liquid organic fertilizer sold in agricultural materials store, then I put in the root of a mango tree in my yard.
I gave the fertilizer because I suspect the mango flower's fall due to the lack of nutrients in the tree, and the lack of fruit-forming hormones. Changes that occur is a few months later mango trees flowering in large quantities. "Hopefully this time this mango flower will bear fruit, not fall out again," I said in my heart full of hope.
However, in fact, the mango flower returns to death, leaving only the blackened stalk and no fertilization. Quite a lot of flowers, but only produce seven fruit in mango gadung tree, and two fruit only in sweet arum mango tree. That's not normal. By comparison, the mango trees in my neighbor's yard each year produce 50 to 100 more pieces.
Strangely enough, three of the seven small fruit in the mango gadung tree in the yard of the house, now seen begin to rot. So also with the sweet arum of mango tree, which only has two fruit, now looks begin to rot.
I am increasingly surprised, and again experienced the disappointment to of the mango gadung and arum manis tree it. Now my guess is that my two mango trees have been attacked by pests that I do not know the name or type of pest that. Similarly, the mango golek tree, which only once bear fruit, after it flower but fall all so that no conception, probably because of pests attacked.
So, when the three mango trees bloom again, I will try to spray with pesticides to prevent pests. Maybe that's my last hope to be able to see the mango tree in the home page bear fruit and I can eat the fruit.

Very sad. May be some reason. Some insects attack.
Yes. Thanks @zakia
