Here are some ways how to be more active by sneaking in some physical activities into your life.
Start by introducing just one and then add a few more and soon you’ll start noticing the difference.
- Take a walking during your lunch break
- Take the stairs instead of the elevator
- Ride a bike to work once or twice a week
- Get off the bus or train a few stops early and walk the rest of the way
- Park at the far end of the parking lot
- Cook your own meals
- Stretch at your work desk
- Count your steps with a pedometer and make daily goals ( ex.10 000 steps)
- Set a reminder for your daily workout on your phone
- While waiting, stand on the balls of your feet
- Only drive to places you can’t walk to
- Find new active friends
- Keep an exercise log and a food diary
- Do house work really fast
- Wash your car at self-service
- Do squats while brushing your teeth
- Set a timer to get up and walk around every 45-60 min
- Do crunches while watching TV
- Play with your kids or pets outside every day
- Dance while vacuuming
- Read a book in a plank position
- Wear comfortable shoes that will make walking and moving a nice experience
- Go for regular walks with a friend or family member
- Explore your city during the weekends
- Do calf raises while making dinner
- Get a Swiss ball and do 10 crunches every time you stumble upon it
- Walk up escalators instead of just standing
- Stand on one leg while waiting
- Set a small fitness goal at the beginning of each day
- Do lunges during TV commercials
- Find an activity that you enjoy doing daily
- Volunteer at the local community center
- Try something new each month (ex. rock climbing, drafting, paddle boarding)
- Spend an hour each day walking or standing
- Take regular walks in nature
- Walk around the house while talking on the phone
- Do step ups on a bench in a park
- Add a more active spark to your love life
- Do push-ups while your game is loading
- Race your kids or friends to a near-by location
- Hop on the spot while waiting for your coffee in the morning
- Do small biceps curls when carrying grocery bags

- Listen to inspiring music right after waking up ( ex. Eye of the Tiger, Rocky)
- Do a squat hold above your chair for 30 s few times a day while working
- Join a running club or a fitness meet-up
- Take a basket instead of trolley in the supermarket

- Make your own small organic garden
- Strive to give 1% more each day and challenge yourself on each step
