Okay Steemies, let’s be clear over here. First thing: my header is a sarcastic one, but I love to have your attention. Yeah, that’s right, I love to have your attention. However, not for you to judge my appearance, but for you to read my steemit experience so far in which girl looks seem to be a deal maker or a deal breaker.
Actually I am a little bit disappointed to be honest. I thought this would be a platform to make the world a little bit more beautiful by sharing wonderful written stories, perfectly shot pictures and astonishing pieces of art. I think these kind of posts deserve a lot of respect, not especially by giving money or something, but just by being seen and/or read.
To my surprise this is not the case on steemit. I did a little research (mouse clicking, carefully reading, mouse clicking, carefully reading etcetera) about most upvoted posts on steemit and I came to the conclusion that – besides stuff about digital currencies – posts about or from girls are most trending. These posts are not about how smart, warm hearted or talented these girls are, but about physical appearances. And this, my dear fellow steemies, breaks my little feministic heart.
I was relieved when I came across the post of @burmik123 who was writing about this happening on steemit already a year ago. I was glad to see he gain some support mostly by some fabulous men. However, fact is that this is still happening and there is apparently a market for it. That is a pity for my feministic heart, but what can I say.. the world is not always as fair as it should be.
So I think I made my opinion clear. Some last words for you girls and boys over here who like sexist upvoting:
@Girls: We have a lot of other digital platforms for spreading your feathers and being appreciated for your girly features by superficial men. And maybe you should ask yourself if you seriously want to get paid for it.. I think you have some qualities which are worth more steems;
@Boys: Might you despair for girls level up despite all the digital platforms where you can live your desperate life to the fullest, we got a very nice place in the Netherlands called the red light district. Just so you know.
Love to read your opinion about it, but let us be nice and respectful to each other :)
Cheers,
Jessie
