People do seem to think bad luck comes in spurts. Maybe yours will improve. You finished off your degree, right? When do/did you defend it?

I understand completely how it can feel to have everything seeming to go against you... Since I returned to the USA almost five years ago, I've had a long, downward spiral of unfortunate developments. I'm hoping to break the cycle by finishing this degree and finding work.

I've finished writing a draft of every chapter of my dissertation. Now I'm on corrections. I'm on the theory section preparing to move on to the research methods. I'm trying to defend in March.
I forgot about the possum and the raccoon. And the dog attack on Bandit. And some other car break down misadventures and a number of other things....Yep it happens in spurts.

I'm hoping the same as you. I feel kind of stuck like i can't progress until I'm finished with school Maybe once I finish this degree I'll find a super awesome paying job. Then I could afford a complete overhaul of everything wrong with our house. I just hope the PhD ends up being worth the time and money.
