Things you did not know about Venezuela:
There are three sites in Venezuela that have been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO: the city of Coro, the Canaima National Park and the University City of Caracas.
The Mérida cable car is the highest and longest in the world, which connects the city of Merida with Pico Bolívar. It measures approximately 12.5 km long and reaches a height of 4765 meters above sea level.
El Salto Angel, the highest waterfall in the world (located in the Canaima National Park) is competing for a place within the 7 wonders of the world.
The anaconda, the largest and longest snake in the world that can measure up to 12 m and weigh up to 200 kg, is found in the Venezuelan plains.
The largest lake in South America is Maracaibo.
The film Arachnophobia, produced among others by Steven Spielberg, tells the story of a strange variety of poisonous spiders found in Venezuela, transported from the Amazon to an American population. On the other hand, two Disney films also concentrate their ambience in the Venezuelan jungle: Dinosaurs and Up.
Jacinto Convit, Venezuelan doctor of great experience, discovered the vaccine against leprosy and was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Medicine. Currently, at 98, she leads a team that develops a vaccine against breast, stomach and colon cancers.
The diamond-tipped scalpel was invented by Humberto Fernandez Morán, a Venezuelan scientist.
Venezuela is the country with the most oil in the world: it managed to certify a volume of crude reserves of 297,000 million barrels, which makes it the largest deposit on the planet, ahead of Saudi Arabia.
The "malta", the "frescolita", the "diablito" and the "PAN flour" are Venezuelan inventions.
Surely if you grew up in the 90s in Venezuela, you will remember each of these things. Also, you will surely get nostalgic and remember many special moments. Definitely, it was a good time, and of course, much healthier than now.
