When was the last time you spent some time for yourself?
Job, work at home, going for marriages or any other functions of relatives, running back of your own kids. There are times when you might have thought that 24 hours is just not enough for you. You are always ready to skip the time that you want to spend for yourself. Better to say that you are least interested in keeping your 'real self' happy. The next time you do that to yourself, just remember that there are people out there who ended up having mental stress because of ignoring themselves for a long time. So, don't ever ignore yourself completely. At least, go for a walk alone, maybe to a park or to a nearby beach.
When was the last time you had your favourite thing?
For instance, assume that you really prefer tea to coffee, but just because your kids or parents love coffee, you stick on to coffee. John's wife loves green. Although his favourite colour is blue, which he always wanted to be the major colour for his dream house, he painted his house green, just to make his wife happy. Of course, he is a good husband. But, the fact is that at least in some cases give your 'favourite' thing a little preference.
Now, go grab a pen and piece of paper. Then make a list of your favourite things. Keep it safe with you. You should take a look at this list every day and cross the ones that you have given preference over the choice of others.
When was the last time you felt happy because you completed something you started?
Procrastination. The one word that you keep yourself to your heart. Why on earth do you fail to complete tasks that you start? The top reason why people fail in completing a task is because they get engaged or carried away by some secondary task that they think is worth doing.
Computers used to be this way. There are things called 'threads' in computers that run tasks. Computers used to switch a low priority task with a high priority one. These days, computers handle tasks simultaneously because of multi-tasking. Oh, by the way, the switching of the tasks in the case of computers were also because of human intervention. God! Please leave the computers alone. Don't make those things also 'procrastinate'.
Your golden solution to this problem is to embrace the word 'F-O-C-U-S'.
When was the last time someone appreciated you?
Okay, your boss may not appreciate you. Don't expect her/him to be like your daddy. What I am asking is, think about a while and look back into your memories and find someone who appreciated you. Have you ever made a baby smile? Good, then you were appreciated by that baby.
If no one appreciates you, then forget others, because there is one powerful person who can appreciate you. No, I didn't mean God! I meant You! Only, you yourself can appreciate what you are.
This is my first post here on Steemit and I am not quite sure whether I used appropriate images for every question.Looking forward to exploring more here and writing more and more.
