Daily Thoughts - 01 Mar 18 - Homesteading Today...

Good morning my fellow Steemians! :D

We woke up to SNOW this morning, ugh, at least it’s a mild -2 C so the girls can get some time outside. :D Our puppy daddy Dakota (foreground) and his two sons Shadow (background) and Tiny (center) didn’t seem to mind the snow at all, they didn’t want to come back in and I had to call them several times, naughty boys. :D Its supposed to snow on and off all day. I guess that means March is coming in like a lion and will go out like a lamb, which is going to be nice. :D Hopefully March flies by as fast as January and February did. :D

Our beautiful grand-puppy Mya waiting (a bit) impatiently for her turn to go outside. :D

Our other beautiful grand-puppy Lady isn’t happy about having to take turns and she’s even less happy that she still has to wear the leash when she goes out. :D

Our pretty puppy mom Karma, a.k.a. our snow dog enjoying the fresh falling snow (and trying to convince me to let the others come out and play. :D

Dakota (left) and Shadow (right) sharing our bed for a change (instead of one chasing the other away), it was nice to see. :D

I caught both Karma (left) and her daughter Mya (right) mid yawn in this picture. :D They both look mean when they’re in the middle of yawning, LOL. :D

Our handsome lads and our pretty lass enjoying their breakfast. :D I cut up a couple of apples and put them in with their feed, they all really like apples. :D

Lil’ Miss (left), Junior (center) and Pinky were very excited when they realized we had eggs for them this morning. :D

Pinky (foreground) took an egg right from my husbands hand this morning, it was cool to see. :D Junior (left background) and Lil’ Miss (right background) were enjoying the eggs I put in their dish. :D

Our whole herd got to enjoy the day outside today. :D They didn’t seem to mind the snow and had a lot of fun hopping around the pasture. :D Belle was better today, eating again and running for a bit, which was really nice to see. :D

Our handsome boy Buddy escaped the big pasture, I’m not sure how, probably slipped through one of the loose wires on the fence. Thankfully he wanted back into the pasture to be with Joker and the rest of the herd. :D Once my husband and I got him back inside the pasture with the rest of the herd we tightened all the fence wires and there were no more escapes. :D

Hopefully the temperatures stay mild like this, even if it does snow it doesn’t bother the cows when its mild like today. If it stays around the -2 C to anything above zero, and we don’t get too much snowfall, the whole herd can hang out in the big pasture and enjoy the fresh air and exercise and we won’t have to worry about escapes. :D Princess (left), Candy (center), Buddy (right background) and Joker (right foreground) enjoying their hay. :D

Belle enjoying the salt lick and the salt lick. :D

The piglets and the chickens had the whole barn to themselves today while the herd was outside and I’m not sure they liked that. I think they like the added warmth the herd provides and I think they’re used to the noise levels of the herd. :D Either that or the piglets felt they had to be extra vocal when I brought them their supper for another reason that I’m totally unaware of, LOL. :D I did tell the piglets that the herd was on its way back to the barn for the night when I brought them their supper though, just in case that’s what was upsetting them. :D LOL. :D

Our handsome boy Buddy eating his supper oats while my husband points out the fact that I didn’t hook him to his chain and that I’d hooked the chain to the chain by accident, LOL. :D I can’t see a dang thing up close without my glasses, thankfully the girls chains are bigger and easier to see. :D

Our other handsome boy Joker enjoying his supper oats. :D I think tomorrow if the herd goes out I’m going to try to get the boys to the barn before the girls, its easier to get the little ones to the spots if the girls aren’t blocking the way. :D

Candy (left) and Joker (right) enjoying Joker’s hay. :D

Princess enjoying her supper hay while I take her picture and wipe the snow off her. :D

We had another visit from a bunch of those little black/grey and white birds today. :D
There was no sunshine today so unfortunately no sunrise or sunset photos to share tonight, sorry. Hopefully we’ll get sunshine tomorrow and I’ll have some nice sunrise and/or sunset photos to share in tomorrows post. :D
Well that was most of our day here. How is/was yours? I hope you have/had an awesome day! :D

and watch them grow hihi they are soooo cute!!!

btw Frosty, come and join in wushu contest papa bear made his entry:)
I hope to make mine on time.

Have a lovely day.
goodnight for me here:)

xoxo

Thanks for visiting lovely lady! :D
Awe, that is very nice to hear, thank you. :D I'm so glad you liked it. :D Its the first time I've ever hooked the chain to the chain, but its also the first time the boys had been disconnected and allowed to play in the big pasture so it must have thrown me off, LOL. :D
The piglets are getting big fast. I still think Lil' Miss will end up being the longest and biggest of the three but Pinky is trying his best to catch up with her, poor Junior is lagging behind but he could have a growth spurt any time and become the biggest of them all. :D LOL. :D
I'd love to do the Wushu contest but my body is a bit sore. I might just use a bit of my medicinal plants and try a short pose if I can get my son to take the picture though. :D I can't guarantee how its going to turn out, but I do miss martial arts. I'll have to go check our yours and papa bear's entries. :D
Sending you hundreds of hugs, lots of love, and positive vibes. :D
God bless you. :D Have an awesome day/night my fabulous friend! :D

Very very cute

Thank you very much for taking the time to visit, read my post, and make a comment. :D
Thanks we love them all to pieces, silly boys and girls, they keep us entertained, inside and outside of the house and barn every day. :D
God bless you. :D Have an awesome day! :D

Very nice share. Thank you for taking the time to write their names and give a little info on each of the pups. Must be a busy homestead. :)

Thank you very much for taking the time to visit, read my post, and make a comment. :D
Awe, that is so kind of you to say, thanks. :D Writing their names using my mouse is much harder than I thought it would be, LOL. I think its nice to be reminded of their names, some people like myself are terrible with names, just can't remember most of them, so I like to put them into at least a few pictures in each post to help people like me. :D
It is very busy in winter for sure. The animals, my son, husband, and I are all looking forward to spring when the herd can stay out in the pasture (and the electric fence will actually be electrified again so no worries about escapes) because that means no more water bucket lugging, just connecting the hoses and filling the tubs, and no more moving the herd in and out of the barn, which will make cleanup a breeze, YAY! :D LOL. :D
God bless you. :D Have an awesome day! :D
