Last night I into an argument with 5 elderly gentlemen.
At the age of 16 years, what do you know about anything? One is basically still a child. To ask a 16 year old to make a decision to consent is preposterous to say the least.
Back to our gentlemen. I was so irked by the thought that a 50-60 yer old man would find it admirable to have sex with a little girl of 13 years. I think such men are what is wrong with today's society. They are the reason that we have to closely guard our daughters and even sons. I have seen of late in social media the cases of children that are reported missing never to be seen again. I think these children are being kidnapped only to be sold as sex slaves to such men who are willing to pay a high price for a little girl or boy for their sick twisted fantasies.
Cases of defilement are also on the rise. Teen pregnancy also on the rise. All because a man who should know better decided to defile a young child. It makes one sick to see such young lives destroyed before even their life has barely begun.
These men should be the ones protecting the young , not seeking to destory them. It is no wonder that here in Kenya the men in our parliament had discussed a motion to make the age of consent 16 years instead of 18 years. Gladly it didnt pass. Such men are pedophiles to be very blunt and women who sit and support such idle remarks should be ashamed of themselves.
Let children live. Let them grow. Quite frankly I think the age of consent should be pushed to atleast 24 years. let us stop perpetrating this unspeakable behavior by speaking out and putting these people in their place. Just like I did.
This was because they somehow thought that it is OK for 12-13 year old to get married and even to have sex. They argued that the legal age for consent in Botswana is 13. But I googled and they were wrong because it is actually 16 years according to this article https://www.ageofconsent.net/world/botswana. Still too young if you ask me.
