Thursday the Red Cross/Southern Baptist sent some other smaller Southern Baptist feeding teams home so we took up their work load. The number of people the ERVs served per route decreased so the Cambros have less in them, but the number of Cambros increased due to servicing more ERV's (Red Cross Emergency Rescue Vehicles).

Thursday was my chance to go to Costco. Jim had never been to a Costco so I invited him. Jonathan spoke up and said he would like to go too. So the three of us started walking over to Costco. Just getting to the street probably took 15 minutes and perhaps another 5-10 minutes crossing the very busy street. When we got on the other side, Jonathan decided to split off and go his own direction. Jim and I continued to Costco and we didn't see Jonathan again until we arrived later at our church home site. Jim and I walked through Costco, ate their freebies, and then ordered and had pizza. The pizza tasted good and was a nice change. We then went back in and purchased 2 watermelons to take back to the whole feeding team. While I was paying, Jim told the clerk at Costco that it would appear to onlookers as though we stole them since we had to walk with them in our arms all the way back to the church. We each carried one huge watermelon back to the feeding trailers and I am sure it was a funny sight. We were both tired of carrying our respective watermelons and looked for someone to take them off our hands. Here we happened upon Gary the chief cook who placed the watermelon in the cooler trailer for eating the next day.
By Friday we were on the downhill stretch. The washing has become routine and we have done some trading of positions to decrease the monotony and use other muscles. I helped at times to stack the Cambros after they were sanitized and put back together. Then other times I flipped the lids and Cambro bases for the person spraying.
At lunch everyone had a special treat, watermelon!
