Are you a sensitive man?

in #life8 years ago

Sometimes I hear a beautiful instrumental melody or a pure singing voice in youtube and once it´s finished I have to open my eyes wider to try to balance a tear that is suddenly dancing on the edge of my left lower eyelid. Yes, when it´s just a lonely tear usually pops up in the left eye. I´m not sure if that has a specific biological explanation but I would say that the reason behind it is because we are not completely symmetrical.

I´ve noticed that this happens to me way more often now in my thirties than in my twenties so I presume that this sensitivity will be more intense as long as I get older and older.

This is why elderly people, like our grandparents sometimes get tears in their eyes when we just kiss them or hold hands with them. The older we get the clearer we see what it is important in life: Connect, feel, love.

Just picture a beautiful scene in your mind with a loved one and smile.

What happens when we cry?

A fluid with proteins, mucus, oil and water is excreted from the lacrimal glands flowing trough the eye and then it comes down to our face.

We have different types of tears:

Basal tears keep our eyes always wet and lubricate them. Dust dissolve in it and it doesn´t hurt us. These tears also are the first physiological barrier against bacteria.

Reflex tears occur when for example we get a lovely mosquito into our eye or we are pealing an onion. Irritant particles cause it but it can also be triggered by other factors like bright light or by vomiting. The purpose of these tears is just to wash out whatever is irritating our eye.

Psychic tears are related to our feelings. We all have cried by laughing, by love, by sadness or fear. The compounds are different from the other types of tears. This type contains more prolactin, which amongst others functions is an indicator of sexual satisfaction.

I love

When I go to pick up someone at the airport. There, I sit and I observe people, I love to see the facial expression of the people waiting for the loved ones. The moment when they see each other in the distance. How their faces change, that smile, that hug, that kiss. I´m kind of addicted to those emotional moments and contemplating them make me feel me instant empathy.

I love

When I see a mum on the street holding her baby. Looking at that tiny creature feeling safe and warm makes me feel so good. It is very relaxing. I guess you can call this scene being sensitive since there are people witnessing such a beautiful view who feel indifferent about it.

Am I a pussy?

Am I a pussy?

Am I a pussy?

I need to do something...Wait..I know...Mmmm,...Ehm..

Ok, ok. I know, close your eyes Manu…

Yes. You are right. Masculinity is traditionally not linked to sensitivity. Perhaps women may say so but i'm convinced they still prefer rough, slightly arrogant men with working gloves, free muscular upper body, half shaved face, than bold, oberweighted, sensitive, Vivaldi listener, caring fathers of 6 children.

Stereotypes still shape the society. The ugly truth.

Boys, It allows you mourn! You can be weak when you want. You may need that you care!! No problem!!
( ( Many times it is a relief to see that behind those iron walls there is a soul !) )

Heheh I agree, I like to be a sensitive esponja lol

I would say most women are attracted to consistency rather than roughness or softness.
People in general tend to be attracted to balance rather than extremes, even if they are curious about extremes.
