I wanted to share a short 3 sentence story I wrote the other day as a beginning concept for a more complicated story that I'm working on.
The short story is
"A younger turtle asked an elder turtle "why do we wear shells?" The elder turtle replied "in order to protect ourselves"
And the younger one said "I just feel weighed down"
it's a story that has to do with culture, culture and tradition is the shell that's kept the elder turtle alive and thriving, and so he gives his son a shell of similar size and shape, but as the turtle grows older he feels restricted and limited by his father's culture and tradition because they are not all his own. And so he resents it without realizing the protection it gave. Sure it's heavy and clumsy but without it your ancestors wouldn't be alive long enough to have you. Anyway my more flushed out story will go more in depth and have a hero with a conflict and resolution, ive already started some of the character designs and will start posting those soon, let me know what you guys think of the concept and if you'd be interested in a longer illustrated version
I love it. I want to read this story already. I love the meaning you conveyed with those 3 short sentences. Talent.
