Getting back to Normal Life, after a Cyclonic Effect!!

in #life7 years ago (edited)

Hi my dear Friends.... Hope you are all doing well. Here in Mangalore, we received a very heavy downpour because of a Cyclone Mekunu, three days ago and the life is slowly getting back to normal now!

We were lucky enough not to face much problems, as our house is on a slightly elavated land and the foundation of our home is also two feet high from the ground level. But most of the lower areas of the city in our neighborhood were flooded with rain water.

You might have seen this in my son @firepower's blog. In my earlier post, I wrote that I love rainy season. But now I think not only me, but everyone here is praying God to stop this type of unusual cyclones!!

Our small well was full upto the ground level, which otherwise happens in September, by the end of this rainy season!!.

For two full days I was too busy dealing with the havoc occurred by this rain in our compound, as the outlet pipes were blocked and had to be cleaned. One main hose pipe on the roof of our car parking area got clogged and the water started pouring down inside my parent's room through the outlet pipe of the Air conditioner! I have to get that repaired now!! And cleaning that huge amount of water from the room drained all my energy and made me entirely exhausted!!

But if compared to the hundreds of problems faced by our neighbors here, ours is nothing!! So after cleaning so many things I felt too tired and exhausted and last two days I preferred eating our dinner out, at a good decent place called Hotel BMS.

This is a pure vegetarian and a good quality hotel being run by the Jain community and the food is very clean and awesome here. One day we ordered Madrasi Idli Sambar and yesterday we ate Masala Dosa. See my Dad in his 90's and Mom in 80's are enjoying their food here... :)

Rainy season is my favorite i can't say it, because our area is low landed and when it rains water level increase and we got flooded.
its really painful.

This is last year photo, the green house in ours. Water entered in our house and we used little boat to cross.
The rainy season did not start yet, its summer here, but rain starter soon from now. Don't know what happened next.

Yes, the it's really painful to experience the flood and post flood situations....

You are right!. @geetharao
At 2004 the situation was more dangerous.
The water level was almost height of wrist.
All of our family members are divided and went to some relatives house.
That was my first experience with so much flood situation after arriving our new house.
The more dangerous than water is snake.
Though those are not so poisonous i hope, but so scary.
My 4 years old son, little girl, wife, father , mother all scared of snake.
Last year when the above photo was taken , my mother killed 4 baby snake inside of our house.

Floods and heavy downpour can be really tough, reminds me of the terrible situation we faced once here in Chennai.
Take care ma'am and glad to hear you all are safe!

Thank God the sun came out, I liked your final and happy to see your parents so well! You made a great effort, I'm sorry about everything that happened, but I'm glad to know that they're all fine

Great to see that you are back with normal space @geetharao

Hope you will recover soon @geetharao.

I could not muster courage to write about this in any of my blogposts because I knew you and meghan sir would justify it better.
I guess tough times like this challenges our agility to the fullest and in turn it makes us more stronger. The fact that you were there for your parents even in these tough times shows how much will power you carry.
Thank you putting updating us ☺

Hi dear! How are you? I don’t like the cyclone, it causes a human and financial damage , I got scared last time when comes to Mauritius, I thought that the house will destroyed.

Don't woory mem everything will get back to normal but this flood has done most of the damage to some of the buildings and houses in lower part of your city. I've heard in news that some peoples found dead and some are still missing. Loss of those life and the loss for the families is unimaginable. May their soul rest in peace. Now the situation came in control and the road are cleared so hope this worst days for the peoples of manglore never be repeated again R.I.P

That was horrible for sure but great to see you all are back into your normal life.I hope you all weren't injured much in the cyclone, whoever are injured in this terrific cyclone we should pray for their recovery.
But now i am loving it to see your parents,i just loved my grandparents even i could meet only two of them, though each and moment i spent with them are just wowsome.I wish your parents a long life and keep spending time with them and try to make them happy in the best way possible. That is what i can say.
Jai hind!

Glade to see you again blogging ,I came to know from your son's post about the flood condition in your area,it was very dangerous one.But thank god ,you are good and strong enough to take care of everyone .I was upset for you ,i had request @firepower to take care of you in his post through the comments.Feel very happy to meet you as you were not available in last two days.Wish you all very happy time dear.

Hi dear @maya7... Thank you so much for your good wishes. Yes, we are all fine... :)

Pictures are looking very scary. Also a storm hit north India yesterday. There was a cloud burst in Uttarakhand which killed dozens of people. Thank God, you and your family is alright.

No one loves when it pours like this. Those pictures of water-logged roads look terrible. But the beautiful pictures of your parents feasting on idli and dosa makes me hungry. Can I say it's a blessing in disguise?
