'Life is just a struggle then you die' or similar popular phrases did not just come about without reason and for the great majority of people on Earth life is a struggle.
Of course the word ‘struggle’ is relative –
for some the struggle is to find water to drink, for others it is a struggle to earn enough money for the essentials of a basic lifestyle and for others the struggle is to afford a second home and luxury holidays.
Regardless of the level in society that you find yourself in, struggle is a word that will be applicable to you at some time during your life. But, should life - living in this beautiful and bountiful world, be a struggle for anyone, at any time? Of course not...so why is it? ...Money!
They say that money cannot buy happiness...if we are talking about happiness in its purest (spiritual) form, then that is true and happiness, in these terms; the expression of unconditional love, cannot be bought with any amount of money.
However, there is nothing else that money cannot buy including superficial happiness
'Money is the root of all evil' is another often quoted phrase, which has a high degree of verity to it.
Money is actually nothing more than power
The more money a person has the more power they have. Power is control and the more power a person has the more control over others they have.
Money (power and control) in the wrong hands leads to corruption and dominance, which is exactly what has happened on Earth and is the origin of the above mentioned expression linking money to evil.
Imagine the world without money...
Impossible – it couldn't work. Of course it could - it is how life was meant to be. Lose the money and the corruption and dominance cannot exist and the 'struggle' disappears.
Money is not the result of the evolution of a trade and barter system, as most people believe, money is a deliberate invention designed solely for the purpose of power and control.
Stop for a moment and do some basic critical thinking...money, and the work required to earn it, is simply a form of enslavement, and if you are enslaved a struggle is the inevitable result.
The preoccupation to earn 'a living', to earn money to live, is a worldwide occurrence. Without money a person cannot survive on our Earth for long.
Why should that be? Tell me...
A home as bounteous as Earth and its people need money to live here?
Of course one can argue that in some exceptional circumstances, lost tribes in the Amazon etc. life here is possible without money, as it should be! But generally, in modern life money is the source of existence.
Please think about this - is the whole of the human race that dumb and foolish to simply get themselves into this position where money is an absolute necessity for life, by following the natural evolution of a barter system?
Of course not.
Money has always been used as a control system
by the 'Elite' few who make it and own the most of it
From his or her first steps a person is being trained to earn money and then to give most of this money away (in taxes and debt interest) to the very people who already have the most of it. All through childhood and into adulthood all education, at whatever level – nursery to University, home-schooling, even the school of 'hard knocks' (no formal schooling) is simply geared to you getting a job, or whatever else it takes, to earn money.
Then you spend the rest of your life on Earth as a slave to money, this cause of all evil.
Surely there has to be more to human life than that
The problem is you (?) and nearly everyone else simply thinks this is the 'natural' way of things, dog-eat-dog, survival of the fittest and dam the rest in the chase for (ever devaluing) money.
What actually can money buy? Of course the essentials for survival; food and water, clothes and shelter and an appropriate lifestyle, but after that it really is just a case of...you can go farther than my far, and drive faster than my car, and look back at me from where you are...(hmm, the lyrics of a song?) but really that's it.
Money can, and often does, make someone feel superior to someone else with less of it, but does wearing a $2000.00 suit really make anyone any better than the person wearing a $50.00 suit, or even a boiler suit?
Ah, but money is the substantive reward of hard work – the proof of someone's labour, inventiveness, creation or entrepreneurial skills, they deserve a bigger house and a faster car and more exotic holidays.
Really?
At the lower levels of society I guess this attitude has some validity, let's encourage little Johnny to work hard so that he can have a nice home to live in. But the higher up the ladder you go the murkier the waters become.
I would suggest that there are very few genuine cases of proportionate rewards commensurate with honest endeavour. Misconduct, over-value, deception, corruption, and outright criminal activity are all too often the prerequisites to gaining a substantial fortune.
The power of money is so frequently the root cause of the degeneration of the true nature of mankind
We cannot un-invent money – however, we can view money simply as a tool – a means to an end...rather than the be-all of everything.
So, we have to use money as nothing more than a tool
We have to live in the world as it is – and we cannot exist without money – therefore we may as well try to gain some of it as easily as we can.
By far the easiest – and most moral way to make money is by helping other people – and I do not mean pretending to help people, by selling them products that benefit the seller more than the buyer.
Working together in a common goal interest is the best way for a win-win for everyone.
Helping other people is the surest way to find success yourself – in anything...because the 'Universal Law' still applies, despite all the corruption and power and greed in the world.
Become a part of the SOLUTION – and not part of the problem, by living your life with integrity and empathy.
And if you do you will be rewarded in more ways than one – and your life WILL cease to be struggle...
Great post, @geoffbarra.
Unfortunately, I have to agree with everything you say.
Money has become the goal, instead of the tool, simply because money equals power.
It's a sad world we live in...
Nice closure! There is still hope...
