What is Knowledge?

in #life6 years ago

Ask a student, or a philosopher this question and you will get a myriad of different answers.

Perhaps you can also suggest many different ways of accruing knowledge.

The most common answer I get is; knowledge is the result of experiences. Ah, but what influences experiences? Perception, belief, prior 'knowledge' of what the experience is teaching or reinforcing influences the outcome of the experience.

A child, who does not know what fire is, will quickly learn by experience, if they go too close to it, that fire is hot and harmful. So any time in the future, when they see fire, their 'knowledge' will tell them that it is hot and harmful.

Therefore, knowledge IS gained by experience. Ah, but, is it real knowledge?

What about the people who can train themselves to alter their own perception about fire? They can walk over glowing, flaming coals without it feeling too hot, or being harmful.

Ah, that's just a trick...Well, actually it's not – it's a belief. Their knowledge about fire is different to yours.

Your knowledge, regardless of the source of it, is simply what you believe.

So the real question is not what is knowledge, but - What do you believe, and why?

This leads to another question;
Where does our knowledge come from? Quite simply knowledge comes from money!

Think about this for a moment. Let us take history for an example. They say that the winners write history. Yes it is. However, who are the winners? The winners are always the people with the most money. They can afford to manipulate and control circumstances to ensure they will win.

Then, when they have won, they can afford to pay the historians, reporters, and scholars to write the version of the event (war, or whatever it might be) that they want.

These winners own and control 90% of the news media and main publishers in the world, so effectively they control knowledge. Only the knowledge they want, the knowledge that benefits them, as the controllers, is allowed.

Knowledge that limits you as an individual.
Knowledge that makes you live in fear (of cancer, or war, or terrorism).
Knowledge that makes you believe you are an insignificant speck in a massive universe. Knowledge that makes you believe you are little more than an advanced (evolved) version of a monkey.

You are constantly fed knowledge that makes you easier to control. And from cradle to grave this knowledge is so consistent and so pervasive that you just accept it without any critical thought of your own.
No wonder the world is in such a mess.

Knowledge is controlled, restricted and limited.png

Everyone (every non-thinker) is being mass-controlled and manipulated, and completely limited, by mendacious education, and the dissemination of false, restricting, knowledge, by the very people who know the (real) truth…And who control the real truth for their own benefit.
