Problems are just a part of life.
There is nothing you can do to never have a problem ever again. In fact, I believe that true happiness can only happen if you HAVE the occasional problem.
As Agent Smith told Neo in the Matrix
“Did you know that the first Matrix was designed to be a perfect human world? Where none suffered, where everyone would be happy. It was a disaster. No one would accept the program. Entire crops were lost. Some believed we lacked the programming language to describe your perfect world. But I believe that, as a species, human beings define their reality through suffering and misery. The perfect world was a dream that your primitive cerebrum kept trying to wake up from. Which is why the Matrix was redesigned to this: the peak of your civilization.”
Now this is spoken as a computer program that despises humans, so don't take it all at its word. Certainly we don't need to suffer in misery, but we do need to have a road block every once in a while. We need the 'bad' to know what the 'good' is in our lives. No pleasure without pain. No success without failures. No life without death.
Problems are not problems, just another challenge to us to become a better person. Problems can teach us to be kind, tolerant, patient, and humble.
We need challenges. We need to be tested.
Otherwise we become complacent.
Now I'm not saying to go out and make more problems for yourself, as I see so many people do. No, I only ask you to change the way you approach them. If you see each new problem as a challenge, as a chance to succeed at it, you won't become unhappy every time one comes your way.
However, if you see each and every problem as a battle for survival then I can tell that your life is full of worry. Even if you have no current problems, you fear for the next and therefore won't let yourself be happy.
These negative thoughts will be manifested in your life. Like is drawn to like. Poor thinking habits keep you poor. In life. In happiness. In money. You can work as hard as you can, but without conquering your mental habits you won't ever get a leg up.
Think of it as the food you eat every day. Your thoughts are the ingredients you have to work with. Whatever you think about all day will be all that you have to eat.
These meals are no ordinary meals, however. It is you. It is your emotional, social, and financial life.
What you think is what you eat every day. To put it another way, what you think is what you will become.
That's great! It means that anyone can change the ingredients of their meals, even if they are in a bad place in life, by changing their mental outlook. It's simple, but it's not easy.
Change Your Mindset
To begin to see your problems not as numerous struggles but as ways to succeed try asking yourself a few questions.
How is this a test? Why did this problem enter my life? How is the best way to approach it? What could this do to my life if I overcome it?
The Buddhists have a practice called “making difficulties into the path.” They say that if we use all our trials, all our fears, all our disappointments that we have already faced in life, just think of all the fuel we'll have for the journey!
They have a prayer that goes like this: “Grant that I may be given appropriate difficulties and sufferings on this journey so that my heart may be truly awakened and my practice of liberation and universal compassion be truly fulfilled.”
So stop worrying about problems as they are inevitable. See them as ways to strengthen yourself. See them as fuel for the journey of life.
Life is not easy that you will always take the elevator on your way up. Attymes you will just have to use the staircase.
You'll just have to work hard and toil at a point. Problems are what makes us remember that we are human. It's purpose is to motivate you and not make you a weakling.
I like the part where you say "what you think is what you eat". I totally agree with you. People who are always positive and optimistic always tend to have success come their way unlike being negative and a pesimist. When there is a problem and its beyond your solving, don't kill yourself with thoughts. Try accept and move on strongly. Nice word of encouragement @getonthetrain.
Really nice article.
Thank you for reading and leaving a comment. The way your life is begins with how you think. It's important to know this.
All of this is true, but when all the problems you're facing are a real battle for survival, and they are all linked, it becomes harder to stay positive or in a good mood. Most of the first world problems are challenges rather than problems, as you say, we need challenge, but we dont need problems, if you get rid of all your problems you could still callenge yourself
True. I find those that have learned to overcome problems quickly often turn to creating challenges for themselves. For instance, to climb a difficult mountain.
Problem-Based Learning is a fantastic way of learning and is used in more and more schools. It really pushes students (and students) to think critically about how to acquire knowledge and most importantly the best way of applying it. I strongly believe in the power of effective problem solving to move forward!
The problem began when people thought to remove all the possible ways children could come into problems. Without being able to learn overcome challenges when young creates an 'adult' that can't handle life.
Thanks for reading my post here.
I like this, because this is also my realm.
Without challenge led there is no development, there is no grow in character.
As human beings we need to see difficulties as temporary point and we decide if we benefit from it or not.
Yes, often it sounds easy to say it than to do it. I am aware of that. Also as you said we don’t need to go out and creating problems for ourselves far away with that.
Don't wish that your problems were easier but make yourself better.
I absolutely love the part of your post where you are using powerful questions to find benefits in our struggles. I learned this concept of questions when I read the book from Tony Robbins "Awaken the Giant Within." He talked a lot about asking ourselves powerful questions so I tried it for myself and it truly worked. My favorite question which I ask myself when I deal with some pain or hardship is "What's in it for me?" This concept totally transformed my life. Great post. Thank you
There ya go, proof that this stuff works!
Thank you for your article, which wants to grasp the truth in order to face the events of life constructively. In this atmosphere, nothing seems hopeless and futile. To be a master of the self, I read this desire in it, which gives way for me where thoughts are the food that shapes our experiences. I do not attribute this power to this thinking, even to the inner convictions. Rather, a mysterious weaving conducts every curriculum vitae. You write that the difficulties are needed, as a challenge, so I see it also with the mysterious work that just completely eludes the control and shaping of thinking.
Interesting thoughts. Thanks for sharing. :)
Great. As i was reading your post...i was actually thinking on the current drought problem that's hitting Uganda. Some people are actually saying that famine will soon hit the country. i don't actually believe that drought and famine are synonyms but i believe that this problem is actually an opportunity of thinking of new appropriate ways of developing the agricultural sector since almost 75% of ugandan depend on agriculture.
Thanks again @gethonthetrain
Every problem is an opportunity in disguise.
yeah....true....
This really resonates with me as I've surely faced plenty of undeserved challenges thrown upon me, but after time, you learn, heal, get stronger, and get smarter to be a better person:
In voting power recharge mode at 40%. IOU.
It is like a game, overcoming the challenge gives you life XP.
I have a quote that I beat into my teenager's brain every chance I get.
"If you spent half as much time looking for solutions as you do looking for problems. You wouldn't have any problems."
Haha, like that "if you spent as much time working as trying to get out of work" saying :D
Have you ever heard of the simulation hypothesis? I ask you this because you mentioned the matrix.
About facing problems, I think we just need to understand life is not necessary an easy road, and we must simply do our best to overcome any obstacle we may encounter. If we want to achieve our goals we need to be prepared to work very hard until we get there.
And when we get there, the healthier thing we will to keep going for another more ambitious goal in order to keep improving. Life is about improving ourselves as much as we can.
I have heard of it, but I don't believe it. It is more of a thought exercise.
While striving to be better is important, I want people to be happy with where they are. Some people only think that by getting to the next place in life is the only way to be happy. No, you need to be happy where you are right now.
Otherwise you find your whole life was just "the next goal" and not savoring what you have accomplished already.
A sage post. A life lived without adversity would be boring. Rather than seek problems, seek growth, learning and perspective when the inevitable problems do occur.
Thanks Beau!
It’s totally mindset for sure, by the way Matrix and the others are one of my many favorites. But like I said, mindset, I read a great book called “The Power of Now” and another book called “A New Earth” by E.Tolle
That guy in the first picture looks like he was photographed for playboy.
indeed if there is no shift in life events there will be no life....good work
Perfect time u post this , needed this.
I think problems are earnings in life. Everbody must be experienced the problems to solve. So we should stop worrying.
Very interesting insights. You should not judge a book by its cover!
I am new to Steemit and following inspirational authors. I have shared my thoughts on a similar topic, do give it a read and let me know if any feedback :)

Very helpful advice and I especially like, "However, if you see each and every problem as a battle for survival then I can tell that your life is full of worry. Even if you have no current problems, you fear for the next and therefore won't let yourself be happy." I can be guilty of this at times, feeling like every little thing is totally overwhelming and I orient all my efforts towards trying to escape.
good writing ,,, follow me @najapranata
Man should always face his own problems.
