Hi guys and girls!
A couple days ago I told you that I want to get back into reselling stuff I find at yard sales, thrift shops etc. I did this a few years back when I was still studying and earned some cash, but ultimately I did it because I truly enjoy it.
Well, today I got back into it! Me and my girlfriend were wandering around the city and I spotted a little yard sale that was going on. I convinced her to go check it out with me soon after we stood in the midst of a load of.... crap! There were no valuable items to speak of. And if some things were valuable enough to resell them, the old lady running this sale charged ridiculous prices for it.
But then I found it. A small little box with a couple of playing cards in it. It was a stack of about 130 cards from the game "DuelMasters". I never heard of the game but as I love "Magic the Gathering" I knew that some collectible cards can be worth quite a lot. I asked her how much she wants for them and she told me in her old raspy voice: "2€"
Wow! That's nothing. Even if the cards are worthless, loosing 2€ doesn't hurt. So I bought them, went back home and researched online how much they are worth.
Well it turns out I got a couple of cards that are sold on ebay from 10 - 20$! That's why I love reselling! Finding some old shit nobody wants and later discover that it is quite worthy to some people. As I write this I am trying to sort the cards and research how much I can charge for them.
I know I won't get rich by selling these cards but hey - turning 2€ into maybe 100€ isn't too shabby for just wandering around the city with your girlfriend.
And that's it. My first little garage sale experience since quite some time. If someone knows anything about "Magic Duels" please let me know in the comment section below!
Have a great day!
Greetings,
ggorwell
