The School Is Learning Us All Wrong

in #life8 years ago (edited)

School hasn't change a bit since the 20th century. Pupils are still sitting in their desks quietly until the teacher ask if someone has a question. When you are out having break and the bell rings, immediately you have to go in and sit in that boring desk again. No more, can you talk to your classmates because now the class has begun.

What School Is Doing Wrong

The work environment has change. In the 20th century, you worked in a factory and you had your breaks but when the bell rang it was time to work again. Then you are back putting corkscrews on bottles and you advised not to talk to your coworkers, you had that time during break. Does this seem familiar?

However, that is no longer how work is anymore. Society has change and with it the work environment. If you don't communicate with your colleagues the company will struggle and so will you. In school we are still taught this factory routine which isn't helping us a bit, quite the opposite. If you have business and don't talk to your colleagues, the business will fail. If you wait for someone to tell you what to do, you business will fail because your teacher isn't there anymore.

The things we learn in school are great, I am not saying that. What I am saying is that the school environment is not beneficial in the work environment anymore. It was when most of us worked in a factory, but that as I said isn't the case anymore.

The school environment has to catch up the work environment

Instead of quiet classrooms with a teacher standing behind the desk spouting facts, the pupils should be in charge. What I mean by this is that pupils should be able to communicate and discuss freely. Be encouraged by the teacher to want to learn and also be taught the benefits of learning. Then it is much easier for pupils to see the bigger picture.
