You are an Autarch. You decide when to eat, when to sleep, and when to bathe. You rule yourself. Other people agree to exchange things with you for things you provide them, such as service or money. Some people may threaten you if you don't give them what they want. As an Autarch you must decide how to act, including how to react to threats when evil people demand you do as they say. Despite you may feel you have no choice when threatened, in fact you do have a choice, always, to either comply with demands, or to refuse and confront your abusers.

In the world I live in, the interests and honor of overlords take precedence over the freedom of poor commoners like me!😂
It is not a mystery why criminals seek power over their victims, whom they rob without mercy. When a gang has gained regional supremacy, it is predictable that they will seek to control information available to their victims in order to prevent threats to their power from reducing their rake. Folks aware of parasitic theft of their production are able to take actions to increase their retention of their production and create that same power in the society subjugated to criminal gangs.
Inevitably, society shrugs off the subjugation of such gangs in due time, although it is common that this just enables a new gang of criminals to replace the old. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. However, technological advance continually creates improved productivity and has traditionally increased the profitability of slavery to criminals that parasitize the production of collectives. Since increases in productivity are today due to decentralization of means of production, the productivity of collectives is no longer increasing, and criminals have an insoluble problem: if they allow tech advance to increase productivity, their ability to parasitize it is reduced because that increase is distributed to individual producers, which institutional mechanisms are incapable of parasitizing. If they suppress decentralization, they reduce the productivity of their subjects, and competing polities become more powerful and will eventually conquer them.
Since this is occurring across all fields of industry, all polities are being deprecated, and all individuals and households adopting decentralized means of production increase their wealth and freedom. Despite the military might of criminal gangs, the ability of distributed production to enable individual households to themselves produce their security from military violence, when combined with the increased productivity the most advanced technology provides will inevitably enable individual households to eliminate the criminals stealing from them.
It is just a matter of time and engineering before polities based on violence are eliminated, and productive households become sovereign. The sooner such households adopt decentralized means of production, the sooner this will happen. My best wishes to you and yours in the coming celebration of your freedom from oppression.

Make goods, trade with people that make other goods. What do you need money for? Money is created by commercial banks that conjure it out of thin air by lending it. It's actually valueless. Real wealth has value.
