When a consensus is reached amongst a group of people, anything can become money. Steem is an intangible digital asset which is valued because a consensus has been reached by the steemians and it has become a medium of exchange. The amount of money one has determines to an extent the level of freedom and control within his grasp.
How can one visualize such as been bad. It can only be said that when you abuse such previlages and use it to the detriment of your fellow human, In such scenarios i know people can percieve money as been evil
