Yes, he is named after THAT El Chappo! no matter what i did he kept finding new and creative ways to escape out of his cage!
Rabbits are funny creatures. They show their emotions all the time, usually El Chappo is pretty chill, but occasionally i find him sneaking around chomping on my baseboards haha. and he really does sneak to! He has two favorite spots to chill, his first is under a red chair in my room that he uses like a canopy, and the other is inside this cuboard that is hollowed out in the back, he literally just chills in there for hours.
Every morning when i let him out of his cage he does a happy dance, He literally runs as fast as he can in circles all around the room and then hop/skips randomly haha he gets pretty high in the air too. silly rabbit. he also loves to play tag, and again...eat baseboards lol.
Im mostly a plant based eater so we get along well, he likes bananas and blueberries, but hes not really a big fruit eater. He loves his vegetables though!! his favorite is parsley, but he also likes lettuce and cilantro and of course a carrot every now and again. He also likes pumpkin seeds and almonds. he never quite figured out how to pick them up like a chipmunk though. I am a proud parent lol and live to entertain him. i used to hide treats all over my room for him to find as a bit of entertainment lol but i had to stop because it got a little out of hand. my boyfriend wasnt really too keen on randomly stepping on vegetables and nuts! El Chappo is potty trained though so at least he wasnt stepping on dropplings ! hahaha
Chappo is a great companion. I loved coming home to play with him after work. I didnt know that rabbits licked, but chappo did! lol he tried grooming me all the time, sometimes it got a little excessive though lol and i would put him on the floor....he would usually hop back on. He also thought it was funny to try and eat all my tools while i worked on jewlery, ha i guess he just wanted to be included. oh yeah and eat my paper art,,but who can blame him? trees are technically plants and therefore acceptable rabbit food.
after about 4 months though, i learned that i was allergic to my best friend :(
i broke out in hives and couldnt breath.
i kept him for a few more weeks just to make sure it was him (in case the doctor was wrong) but it was Chappo
and i had to give him away. I gave him to a really good friend though, who i know will take care of him well. she even got him a friend...who he keeps trying to hump...smh...we never had the sex talk.
for a while when i came into my room it felt so empty and sad without his presence there anymore, i still miss my furry friend. But i am grateful to have experienced all the bunny adventures we went on.
