Good Deeds and Manners- #03 - Forbidden and disliked deeds

in #life7 years ago

In this series, I will try to post hadiths which tell us about good deeds and manners we should do and follow respectively in our daily life, as a human being.

Today's hadith

In this hadith, our Prophet (PBUH) informed us about 4 forbidden and 3 disliked

Forbidden deeds by Allah (according to this hadith):

  • Being undutiful to our mother: Mother is the most precious gift in our life. And as a child, it is our first and foremost duty to perform our duties towards her, especially at her old age or anytime she needs us more. If you read stories of #untalented-mama hosted by @surpassinggoogle , you will see hundreds of stories about awesome mothers. We also need to be awesome son or daughter to them.
  • To withhold (What you should give): Sometimes, to show power or to show how much control we have on others, we withhold something from others. Those might be a piece of land, or money or other properties. Or even borrowed money (we must return back according to the contract). These practices are forbidden.
  • Demand (what you do not deserve): All the wars, domestic or international are due to this demand. But who cares! If you investigate, you will find that all violence is due to attempt to take control of something.
  • To bury your daughters alive: It is not seen now but it was a cruel practice in Arab before Prophet's (PBUH) arrival. To some extent, it still exists. Some parents or family terminate a pregnancy when they come to know(from earlier USG) that the unborn child is a girl. This is forbidden.

Disliked deeds:

  • Talk too much about others: Apparently, it is not bad about talking good thing about others but sometimes, this type of gossip turns into some conversation which might be humiliating to the subject(person). Or some bad thing will be revealed about someone who has corrected himself/herself already and wants to keep burying his/her past, but excessive talk/gossip/conversation might do harm to that person.

  • Ask too many questions (in religion): Having faith is somewhat important in being pious. Something we have to believe in the explanation of which is not available or beyond our understanding. Too many questions on such topics might turn us away from religion. We should avoid such questions.

  • Waste your property: Any type of wasting is highly discouraged/disliked. Those who do waste are called as the brother of Satan.

What is a Hadith?

According to Oxford Dictionary a Hadith is

A collection of traditions containing sayings of the prophet Muhammad(PBUH) which, with accounts of his daily practice (the Sunna), constitute the major source of guidance for Muslims apart from the Quran

Sort:

Sadly these are adhered by less people and followed by even lesser people. But a reminder is always good, maybe it’s a chance Allah will turn their hearts and they will become better Muslims.

Yes. it is the reality. Very minimum number of people know these, now a day and much smaller number are following these.
Thanks for your nice word.

This is too harsh, hope this is not being practiced anymore in all Arab countries..

To bury your daughters alive: It is not seen now but it was a cruel practice in Arab before Prophet's (PBUH) arrival. To some extent, it still exists. Some parents or family terminate a pregnancy when they come to know(from earlier USG) that the unborn child is a girl. This is forbidden.

We all hope that sir.

Powerful evaluation @hafiz34.

I love this point you made here
