One of the indispensable summer events in Japan is the fireworks festival, held every weekend in July and August.
The Japanese, both young and old, often wear yukata (summer kimonos), to riverine spots in cities for enjoying fireworks, with performances that last even up to 1-2 hours.
Funding comes from a number of sources including the city government, donations from temples, grants from individuals, associations, alumni associations, students, and those who wish to donate to relatives. Has lost a fireworks.
In addition, the budget to cover this activity comes from the purchase of advertising for hotels, restaurants, companies wishing to advertise their products or services, and also from the sale of tickets to the holiday season.
In the south of Mido in Chou-ku, Osaka is the mackerel festival. 2500 grilled fish are baked to invite guests to enjoy free during the four days of the festival.
San san is a typical Japanese autumn dish. This fish lives and develops in the waters with abundant food sources. Around mid-August onwards, when has entered the mature stage, accumulating nutrients, Sanma fish move south to begin the process of reproduction. Fishing season also begins.
Fish is high in fat and healthy nutrients. Fish oil contains EPA and DHA, are substances capable of preventing diseases such as myocardial infarction or stroke. EPA and DHA also work against obesity and cancer-causing agents. Also, in Sanma fish also contains a lot of vitamins good, functional fat soluble like vitamin A, vitamin E and vitamin D.
The Gion festival originated from the "sacrificial rituals" for disease eradication carried out in 869 (the 11th Jougan (貞 観) in the Yasaka Shrine. During the Onin (1467-1477), the procession was interrupted.
Then onwards, since 1500 the festival has been restored by the people of Kyoto and continues to this day. In the Meiji period, the existence of the aristocratic streets (貴 町 制度) was eliminated, the maintenance of the Yama-Boko palanquins used during the festival fell into disrepair, but with the efforts of the Kyoto people, festivals continue to be held every year.
Then, even after World War II broke out, the Gion festival continued to be sustained. The annual festival held in July is extended to the present day, attracting around 400,000 visitors to Kyoto to watch the festival each year.
