Bravo, @hanshotfirst. The most important thing is to be with family and that they feel loved, and yes, you too. Then there's nothing but fun to be had. Long live spouse date nights. They are sacred on New Year's Eve and every other time it's possible. Happy New Year.
Yes! Date nights are a must. Even if you have little kids and you can't get out. A date night of playing a game or having a glass of wine and chatting is essential! It is my number one piece of advice I give anyone I know who is getting married. taking care of each other is great for the kids!
How right you are. This is how they learn about being good partners.
Lol that was entertaining @ hanshotfirst ! Keep em coming
Thanks! I will do my best.
Hi @hanshotfirst
We also had a family evening together, eating far to much and just had a good time together.
That sounds like a delightful evening.
Yes it really was
So cool! We don't have kids (yet) but I like your idea!
Here...we had a great dinner at home, close to the fireplace, and a glass of wine!
The octopus looked delicious!
Thank you! It really was, I'm proud of the result. This one could be served at any portuguese restaurant;)
Happy New Year!!
we can relate to this nice post!
Nice to hear that. I hope you had a great New years.
Nice.
I don't remember building any NYE memories with the boys. Maybe we did, but my grey matter has lost some retention, so that part seems to have calved, if it ever happened.
We do the old people NYE party - games and food with friends until we can't sit straight up (because our bellies make us have to recline), then rush out as soon as the new year starts so we can get as much sleep as possible.
I thought about dancing last night, but it gave me a cramp.
I got a cramp laughing at this reply. Thank you!!!
Oh and happy New Year!
You too bro. I really appreciate you and enjoy your friendship. It's cool to see you building your family up and stacking up the many memories. They'll have some great stories to tell their kids about grandpa. :)
Thanks man. That was really nice of you to say. One of my favorite things about this platform is the cool people (like you) that I have met. You made me smile. Thank you!
Such a great read @hanshotfirst !
This is golden :
"Thursday through Saturday, the room turns into the biggest karaoke bar I've ever seen... and it is filled with senior citizens. They rock the joint from 8:00 PM until 2:00Am. So my mom is more than willing to hang out with my kids before heading out to sing a little Patsy Cline. "
I'm sure one day when the kid's are older that will be you guys!
Cheers and thanks for sharing.
I sure hope so! I am simply amazed that she has a "hang out". It really makes me laugh.
What an awesome way to spend New Year!
Thanks! We really do have fun. I hope yours was fun too.
Sounds great! Awesome to spend it like this! It's not the time but the quality of the moments that count :) I upvoted my reply because I hope you'll see it, I wish you all the best!
