How To Make More $ By Working For Free.

in #life7 years ago

Imagine if working for free could set you up to be more successful than taking an early paycheck.

Is it really all about the money in the beginning?
How did some of the greats find their success?

Let's talk about it.

Sort:

Sounds good for someone who lives with his parents, but not if you have to pay bills and have kids.

I can definitely tell you its not the easy route. I guess that is why very few people are able to pull it off.

I'm guessing what I'm trying will be exceptionally hard with kids also. I will let you know how the experience is. The wife and I are talking about kids now and trying to work them into the plan.

I agree, this would be easy for someone straight out of high school with very few responsibilities. Let's get it out there to the youngsters.

Thanks for your comment.

If you are working on what you love to do, the work you are passionate to do, it will never matter you get paid for it or not. It will give you happiness as you are doing what you love.

That's true. So your payment will come in ways other than money. Good point.

So nice points. :)
Yes sometimes it is not all about money like when volunteering for a good cause.

That's a good point. Volunteering gives back in ways that are hard to see, but very powerful. Thanks for your thought.

Welcome. Thanks for your happy thoughts as well. :)

Nice post..looks like s.calif? Im just gonna point out that posting on steemit isn't exactly 'working for free' is it? You've almost made burger money from this post already..right? If I had more steem juice you'd be able to get fries with that! :)

Haha, quality take. I guess I'm not working for free. I'm working for lunch money.

That is an interesting line of thought though. One of the beautiful things about Steem is that content creators can get paid (even if it's pennies) to learn their trade. I get a little money back and positive feedback from the community, so it makes it far easier to "work for free" on Steem.

It's a very unique platform and time we're in. Thanks a lot for your comment.

PS. I'm in Central California. Santa Cruz.
Have a great day.

Thanks on the reply @happymoneyman. I wrote back earlier but it didn't post I guess. So you filmed that video at 'steemers lane'? (small pun) I'm in Santa Cruz too. Glad to meet another local steemer. I'd been wondering about how many locals were on this interesting platform. I could tell from your video it looked like California but I didn't see any landmarks or I would've known :) Followed you

Awesome the first Santa Cruz connection. That's exciting.
Haha Steemers Lane. Yes, I was actually on the West Side. My video is at 2nd Dog Beach.
I live in Ben Lomond. Great to meet you.
I will follow you also. Have a great day.

Awesome advice happymoneyman! I missed a valuable opportunity when I was a young man in which I would have been working for FREE but would have gained invaluable experience under a mentor. I was in the mind set of valuing my time at this period in my life. Which is great I should have been, but I didn't realize the experience from the opportunity would have far out weighed its momentary gain.

Great comment. It's hard to see those trade-offs in the moment. The short term gain carries a lot more weight in our minds than the future.

This video came from a reflection on some decisions and missed opportunities in my own life.

Thanks for relating and cheers to the future.

hey nice video !!

Appreciating your support. Cheers.
