To me as someone that has been an actor for over two decades, I have found that the best performances and the most memorable ones are when the actor/actress is their most vulnerable emotionally.
Most times people, myself included, see it only as crying. I think it goes much deeper than that. I think it actually covers ALL the emotions we have in our arsenal.
I think of it this way: when the actors I teach are being fully and authentically in their emotions, regardless of what that emotion in that moment is, that in my opinion is when they are at their most compelling, and most watchable.
The main difference for me as a teacher in this arena is how much the person owns what they are feeling, or if they are "faking" it. And we can all always tell when someone is being inauthentic. Whether we ever say something to the person or not, that's for another steemit post.
I know that when I'm being authentic in all my emotions and being responsible and accountable for how I'm feeling, there is more room given to me from others to just let me have them. And by letting myself have them, and being witnessed by others in a non judgmental way, I can finally find peace with how I feel (at least for that moment).
