I finally got out of the house lol

in #life5 years ago

Ever since the start of lockdown on March, I only got out of the house only once. But after that, just can't since the lockdown got stricter.

Last month, the government started the general quarantine which means less strict and implementations of the "new normal" started but only those who have important things to do outside are allowed to go out. Even if I had times when I really need to go out and I think my purpose falls for the "essential" things to do, I still didn't risk going out because I don't have a pass. So I just got stuck inside the house for months.

It was earlier when me and my dad went to the mall to buy a laptop. I needed to upgrade mine so my old one can be given to my brother since he will start online classes next month.

Outside felt a bit like a normal day. There were quite maybe 50% less cars outside than the days before the lockdown, but that's still many considering many are still working from home and students are having online classes.

Even though we are having a general quarantine and most shops are open, cases are still increasing and we are not flattening the curve because I don't fucking know why.

Public transportation is open and the photo above is what we call a jeepney. Usually, it's packed with passengers like we really sit beside each other. To lessen the possibility of transmission, the government implemented the "one seat apart" rule and that jeepneys need to have a partition in between passengers.

Most of the shops in the malls are open now so they have to be strict with their rules. They put a lot of markings indicating where to walk, stand, etc..

Inside, the mall is probably occupied by 15-25% than the days before lockdown. There were shops that were closed too. Those who've decided to stop their business or those who really can't operate cos there's gonna be a lot of interaction like arcade or other similar ones.

Food services are open but they have to limit the people they serve at a time and have a wide distance between the customers.

Laptops and PC sets are selling out really fast which is expected cos of the online classes. I actually just decided to buy a new laptop the other day (hence the lack of activity on the chain) and spent my two days researching for the perfect one to buy (budget + specs).

I had to call the store to reserve the laptop that I'd like to buy cos I got worried when even in online stores they are selling out fast.

When we got to the computer section, there were indeed people who were inquiring about computers, peripherals, RAMs, etc.

Each stores have also made their own rules and provided hand sanitizers and alcohols for the customers to use.

I wish I took more photos especially to show how much people were inside but my phone died cos I didn't charge it before we left lol. I was able to buy the laptop and was happy I was able to see the outside world again (Isolation is really bad for my mental health). :D

Sort:

This is the Philipines? Very surprising. I didn't think they would be so strict.

Yeah, and we needed to be strict since we really can't beat this pandemic without discipline.

First picture inside of the car is great. i think it is inside a car because of the color of the sky...Anyway i am happy for you to go out and feel relax...we all passes a boring and nervous process because of Covid-19...

i hope you enjoy your spare time....

Have a great day my friend...

Yeah the clouds are great! And I think the editing helped too lol. Thank you! Hope you're well :D

From the corner of my eyes I can see that you took these pictures with an iPhone. I prefer the picture where you snapped Infront of those glasses and I can pretty say the crowd in the mall is being curtailed. The truth is that these are all stunning shots and it's been long you took pictures majorly all your uploads this days has been centered on your arts I'm glad you're actually going out again.

The road seem pretty occupied with cars and well I guess activities must go on irrespective of the virus.

Cheers my friend, how's your sales going with the art?

Haha yeah, the virus is here but the economy was failing so we had to open activities. We aren't allowed to go out for leisure though so I'm not sure how those shops mainly for entertainment are going. :( Yeah it's been a long time cos I can't take pics. The only choice that I have is to take self portraits which can be done indoors, but I find it pretty boring at the moment or no inspiration lol.

My sales are good! Hope you're recovering well from the incident! :D

Hahaha I can pretty agree that Self portraits or selfies indoors can definitely come with no inspiration at all and can be boring and well I can see why you haven't been uploading them lately lol haha. But it's all good with time I guess everything can get back to normal.

My sales are good! Hope you're recovering well from the incident! :D

Yeah I'm quite recovering well and dealing with the loss. Thanks a whole lot

It's just repetitive hahah or they look "normal" lol. I don't have costumes or props to spice it up lol

I understand exactly what you're going through and how the world outside looks like. When I go shopping my groceries here in The Netherlands I also have to follow the marks in the stores. No way that you can choose how to walk through the store. I also don't get much out of the house, except for walking my dogs of course, but that's in the free nature not close to anyone. In fact I don't even see anybody else while walking the dogs.

This isolation affects really everyone in a way. For me it's also that I feel gloomy much earlier. So I was happy that I had an evening out yesterday evening. Attending an outdoors photography workshop felt like finally being back to live in the real world.

Hope you enjoyed your outing and that you enjoy your new laptop!

You're lucky you are near some open area so you can walk in nature. I live in a place where there's no forest or an open field nearby. There are houses everywhere so once you go out there's a big chance you'll be near people.

Woah, you're attending a workshop? That's so cool! Is it in a physical place or online? I enjoyed mine, thanks! And I hope you too :D

I did attend a physical workshop ... and I can't tell you how happy I was with that. Just to engage with people again. It was awesome! And yes I'm very lucky that I live in an area with nature around me. I know ... if it wasn't for that, I wouldn't be able to keep up a positive mindset I think.

And your dogs are with you to keep you company! They have this magnificent energy, is what I've observed with dogs lol

They are the protectors of my sanity 😂
My last two post are about the workshop ... and Skipper telling me what to do. Lol

Asi es amigo, el enciero es perjudicial para cualquiera que se encuentra en esa situacion, pero sabemos porque, porque es una manera de preservar nuestra existencia y la de los demas, gracias por compartir y te felicito que has podido comprarte la pc, saludos.

Yeah I'm not complaining though as nobody wanted this to happen. I understand the lockdown needs to be implemented. It just sucks having to go through this.

DESGRASIADAMENTE ES ASI, PERO MUY PRONTO TODO ACABARA, FUERZA Y ADELANTE, SALUDOS.

You have done well has respected the lockdown, if everyone had done so, we would not have this crazy increase in cases in the world. I still remember some comments from my friends who live on the other side of the world, taking this virus as a joke...

this can be useful for monitoring the situation: https://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6

Yeah I also know one from here who thinks that the virus is not real and that he's not going to wear a mask or follow the lockdown rules cos that's "oppression". There's always gonna be someone who will not follow though, we can only hope :/

It was probably so nice and refreshing to get out. We have been in lockdown here, but I'm still able to get outside and go for a walk every day.

It was!!! I was really excited to walk around but also really cautious with touching something. Glad to hear you can walk outside everyday, that's so nice!

I'm constantly washing and sanitizing my hands though. If I touch anything outside of my own house, I make sure to at least clean my hands.

Yeah better be safe than sorry

So happy for you! Finally out! Gosh you must have felt so happy!

Hahaha yeah I was. And was relieved to see the business is still going though I can still see others who closed permanently. :/

Yes, a lot of businesses went down. Very sad to watch that, I see here in my country too. Even businesses with a couple of years of experience closed.

I liked the clouds in the first photo. They look nice. This disease seems to keep our agenda will busy for a long time 😔

Thanks, I like it too! Yeah, I also think this will last for another months or even a year. I heard someone already had the vaccines though and I hope it will work well.

I feel you. I was stuck at home since mid March and it got soo frustrating. Finally I got out. Drive around my city. Felt soo nice. For the 1st time I missed the chaos and traffic 😋

Haha yeah! So nice to be able to breathe in pollution again lol

I'm glad you were able to go out into the world again, hahaha. I am very happy for you, all the photos are magnificent, I really liked the one you took on the glass where the glasses were ... take care ... kisses

Hahah yeah "out into the world" 🤣 Thanks!

The picture with the blue sky makes me want to get out of the house!

Go out but be safe tho! We don't know what's out there :/

Ah, people here already ignoring the basic health measures. There are other virus out there and the news is rolling out that covid-19 is airbone. But yeah, I'll go out sometime maybe in late August or September
