Now to get into the post about food for thought.
I think most people are aware that what we eat plays a huge role on our phyisical well-being but not many reconize what we feed our mind has an effect on our mental well-being.
What are you listening to ? What are you looking at? What do you tell yourself ?
Personally I think what we feed our mind is more importnt than what we feed our body, not to say that diet is not important as it can effect our physical well-being and that in turn can effect our mental health.
Let's start with what you listening to, now I know that when we are feeling down we may listen to sad songs that help us relate and not feel so alone in our experiance but its important to try and limit this kind of music, the music we listen to can alter our moods and effect how we feel, so I would try and make a playlist with songs that can cheer you up when feelling down and in general its a good idea to try and listen to music with a positive message, not to say that you should stop listening to sad songs but I would recommend
limiting your exposure to these kinds songs especially when you are feeling down.
What about what we look at , this goes beyond the videos we watch, what we look at extends to our phones and even the news.
It's important to stay up-to-date with information but at the same time the news can really bring us down making us more anxious effect out eating patterns and ruin the quality of our sleep.
Some good tips are to avoid waking up with news and limiting the exposure, besides most important nees trickles down though friends, family and co-workers.
Now our phones really make things complicated, they open us up to limitless connection and huge amounts of information and content,
Lots of us use social media on a daily basis , it could be a great way to connect to people and things we find interesting but it's important to remember that what we see on social media is not necessary reality it's what people choose to share, it may seem like your friends or people you follow have great lives and relationships because of what they post on social media but it's not necessarily the case

And for the last and most important part, What do you tell yourself?
Now we covered what we listen to and what we look at but What we tell ourselves has the most impact on our well-being and our life in general.
We don't really control the thoughts that come into our mind but we do control our focus some negative thoughts can creep into our mind but how long we entrain those thoughts is up to us, we can brush them off or we can dwell on them.
I have a framework I use to help me recognizing if a thought is worth brushing off or if it's better to dwell on it,
It's pretty straight forward and if you can incorporate this framework into your life you will be a lot better of, as a though comes in, if you can take a step back and ask yourself does entrainig this thought help me in any way if not then avoiding focusing on it, it may creep up again but we must try to recognize it and then place our focus on things that can help us.
Managing our food for thought is crucial for our well-being, we must try to be more mindful.
