Despite the heat, I’ve spent the last month working in a low-cost housing company.
This internship was much more interesting than I had originally envisioned. Coming from a computer engineering school, this experience was a brand new job for me.
The use of technology in non-tech companies
If you are reading this on Steemit, I assumed that you are pretty comfortable with computer and that learning how to use new software isn’t really a problem for you.
So it might be easy to forget that most people struggle with new technologies and sometimes refuse to learn them.
Where I worked for instance, very few people really knew how to fully use the software that manages the housing database. Moreover everything was also stored in paper format so I had to sort each customer record in an austere room made of shelves.
Just imagined if Google had to store every mail in paper format… What a mess!
Being tech-enthusiasts, we can’t help but imagining how blockchain could improve one field or another but we shouldn’t forget that most people don’t understand this technology and that it will take some time for them to learn and use it at least if they are willing to.
To conclude a great starting point, I think, would be to create an easy way to buy cryptocurrencies because this task is still difficult and repulsive for beginners.
