The Fed Up Generation

Entitled? Maybe. Rebels? You bet. Lazy because many of us value meaningful work over cog in the machine-like drudgery? Naw we're just reacting to current economic situations and questionable social norms. Things are changing as we speak. Major technological, social, and political shifts are happening right now.

Get your popcorn ready or better yet be a catalyst for change.

We are in a unique time in history. I'm pretty sure people living during the time the telephone was created would have said something similar. But this time we are in creates major opportunities for people who otherwise wouldn't have had them before. Because of this the old ways are being done away with. For example, the notion that people have to go to college and get a degree in order to make their living is becoming more and more of an antiquated idea.

This is the the rally cry for those who are shaking things up for the better. This is for those who are going against the grain in order to do their best to live a meaningful and inspiring life. This is for those who are being innovative and wanting to see the world in a much better place. Millennials get labeled all kinds of things. Some of it true and some of it is a total misunderstanding. Listen to me as I give you what I feel is the heart and motivation behind why many of us millennials operate the way we do. Much love and peace.

What's one thing you love about living in this time period?

Great thoughts, i feel very similar. Im 27 now, and i worked in jobs that really where a waste of my life energy just to earn some money.
I decided to change this!
I want share work, that i feel i have to do.
Art, nature, philosophy, and sport is, what im interseted in and providing someting valuable in this themes to others is my goal.

Hoppefully we can make a change and society will see that every human has his individual value, and is worth geting payed for it!

Edit: Btw education is very important, but we have to change a lot in the way its beeing providing.

Chears my friend

And the work you put out if Fiirrrreee! I would say you found your place with your art. Hopefully more doors will open for you to showcase your skills.

College makes sense for some people but of course not all.

making hustle moves 💯 % Times have changed. A lot of my friends who are following the path their parents laid out for them are unsatisfied with their career prospects. I'd rather do what makes me happy everyday and not make as much money, but the thing is, with persnal branding and everything YOU ARE A BUSINESS. We have to take advantage of the opportunities we have rn at this moment in time!

keep bringing value my man. Love your thoughts and your inspirational messages.

Yes that's kinda how it is now. You are a business. But there's so many ways to make a living now and gain the information you need that going to college does not make sense for most people.

I’m not a Millennial, but the parent of one. I always encouraged my son to follow his heart and pursue what he loves. Yes, he chose to go the traditional route of college. Initially, he was computer science major. By the end of his first year, he had put the paperwork into change his major to Mechanical Engineering. He took courses over the summer, so he could graduate on time. He also went to a school that required him to do several co-ops.

I’m a big believer in co-op’s in college, so that you can see if it is really what you want to do. He loved his jobs and learned that he needs to be a hands-on engineer. For him that means no big corporations, that won’t let him build prototypes, tinker with, or run tests on the products.

I wish more schools offered co-op experience. I think it helps students decide if they enjoy the work in their chosen field. I graduated from a university that required co-ops to graduate in the 80’s. It gives you a view of what the work environment will be like.

You are right about how technology is changing the world. It opens a world of choice. That is the message I gave my son. Choose what you love and no matter what I will support you. That support at times has come at a cost to him. Like the Christmas, I made him dress up and dance for his tech.

But he chose to do it for a 3d printer. He would kill me if he knew I posted this and it will be stored forever on the blockchain. But, I chose to do it.

I see your message as one of choice. You get to choose how you create your life. And, finally, just know that there are some Baby Boomers out there that will support your choice!

Haha. Co-ops sound much better. Because to be honest when I was in school they said to get internships but I feel alot of internships are not helping people to gain that needed experience and those opportunities are becoming far and few in between.

I actually encouraged another person who had similar interests as your son to find projects to work on with others.

Awesome for encouraging him in that way. It gives him confidence I'm sure.

School’s that offer co-ops have arrangements with various companies to hire their students. The students choose which companies to apply to and gain interview experience. Some school’s also post the student’s resumes for the companies to review. My son, got a co-op with a company that called him wanting to set up an interview. It was one he hadn’t considered and only went on the interview for the experience. He found out the job was much more interesting than it appeared on paper.

I think the strength of the millienials lies in their adaptivity. We are a lot more open minded than previous generations. And where there are differences there will be conflicts, but also constructive dialog. Like the whole schooling debate. My parents would get a heartattack if I told them I'd dropped out of Uni to pursue Steemit full-time.

That's exactly how my parents would've reacted if I told them that. Have you considered dropping out to pursue steemit?

I think everyone who is chasing steemit succes has considered it. And that also includes me. Right now it's practically not possible to drop out. I don't make enough to keep myself fed and maintain a roof above my head, yet. So maybe if I do reach that point where I could live a sustainable life off of steemit I wil consider it. But on the other hand uni does provide me with a lot of information, knowledge and skills that I might need in my life. It can also be a source for inspiration for steemit.

We are living in exciting times.

I am not a millennial ~ more of a pre-runner, Indigo Child.

There is a shift in mass consciousness underway, whether folks realise it or not, and part of this is people starting to wake up to the corruption all around.

Working together we can gently share knowledge and care and raise the energetic vibration for the greater good of all.

Happy to have followed the breadcrumbs to your door :)

Followed/Upvoted I invite you to visit mine.

I am an artist/writer/lightworker with things to say.

Be well.

xox

The key thing to pay attention to is the response to this mass consciousness shift. It will get interesting.

Keep being a light.

Ayye! I feel you. Being yourself is somewhat of a theme in my next video.

I care nothing about politics either. It drains my energy even thinking about it. My point was just thatall around us is is changing and it's up to us to be able to make a difference in the midst of that change. I do think alot of us our age think like that.

My point was just thatall around us is is changing and it's up to us to be able to make a difference in the midst of that change. I do think alot of us our age think like that.

We live in very strange times.
Times of tons of opportunity.
We are spoiled when you think about history.
There was so much war all over the place and there are still some wars.
We can chase our dreams without having to worry that someone shoots an RPG our window.

excellent post. The video below shows exactly why us millennials are on the hunt for entrepreneurial/work purpose success specifically from [6:19 -7:45]

This is madness and our parents want us to get a regular 9-5!!! CRAZY

I've listened to Pat Bet-David before. He has good things to say. Our parents mean well but they are not aware of the changes going on with the way money is being made now.

I love this.

What I enjoy about living in this period is the various opportunities that abound, in the technological space most especially.

When we were growing up as kids, the picture of the future we had on our minds was that of a man in a suit, in a big office, as a doctor, lawyer, engineer, or a teacher. The default thought was to get a university degree and get a job to work in a company. Only few people thought of entrepreneurship. The illiterate were the tailors, dry cleaners, electricians, plumbers, and all sorts of vocational jobs.

Today, our grandparents have refused to retire from those jobs. Those that retire have e Vivien their slots to their children etc. Hence, white collar jobs are nowhere to be found. This has necessitated a large influx of graduates into practicing vocational skills. This aside.

The opportunities that are available online are much more numerous and could even be more profitable. Various freelance jobs give people the freedom to work from home. You do not have to rush out of bed and run to a boss'office.

We cannot talk about the beauty of our times without making reference to what cryptocurrency has opened our eyes to. Cryptos have opened the imaginative power of man to explore possibilities and many are benefiting from this wonderful initiative. Interestingly, we have not seen the best, because it keeps getting better. The digital space is full of opportunities, which are fully blown in our time.

I am so glad that I am a part of this generation!

I am glad too. Let's make the best of it and use all this great tech in a positive way. I am still exploring other business ideas at the moment as well. So many possibilities

What I love today's are we are more open to others. We can easily communicate and share thoughts with everyone. We can easily voice out what our thoughts want to utter.Unlike before that, you need a huge amount of time before they can hear your voice. You need to get a permit first before you can share your thoughts thru rallies.Todays, Just one click, and everyone can hear you.The sad part is everyone thinks they are more superior that leads them to give less respect.

The world has shrunk. It is much more easier to connect with people who may live thousands of miles away from you.

Well, every one had a very unique time in which he/she lived. But things have not changed in his the way they are changing our time of history.

The current era has many positive and amazing things which are worth appreciating. We are not bound by space or time now a days. We don't need bounded places to work. We can work with our own choice and place of work and make our living.

The best thing of this time which I like is that the world has turned into a global village. We can interact with people of different continents and learn new things. We can benefit from advanced research and innovations created in every part of life.

Live a little and enjoy the moments. Thank you.

I like the way you put it. A global village. We have so many options now days.

I like that there are so many opportunities. You can work to save up a little money, and you can move almost anywhere...or at least you can travel there for a little while. It's much easier to be upwardly mobile than probably any other time in history. You can make a bunch of money and live like a king just because you happen to post videos online of doing stupid crazy stuff. It's all new. It's hard to keep up too.

Where's that picture of the road at? Did you take it yourself?

"post videos online of doing stupid crazy stuff." That reminds me of the 15 million merits episode on black mirror where the guy gets paid to be on tv ranting with a knife in his hand. Black mirror is the new twilight zone.

I took this picture a few years ago going into Big Bend National Park here in Texas. I have lots of photos from there. The photo at the bottom of all my posts is one I took when we were up in the Chisos mountains.

I haven't seen that show. Granted I don't really watch much tv, so it's not all that surprising that I haven't seen it.

They're both great pictures, so either one is great to use. I've long admired the one at the bottom of your posts. Sorry if I didn't say anything about it.

No worries.

I love everything about my life. Every day. Every hour. Every minute. Every second.
I love my parents. Their unconventional love and care has made me the person that I am.
I love my friends.Constant source of positivity and happiness.
I love the nature. The greenery, the sweet chirping of birds, those tiny ants doing the impossible.
Every bit of this beautiful nature enchants me.
I love every person in my life who has directly/indirectly helped and supported me. I'm forever indebted to these people.
I consider myself privileged because I have roof above my head, little sweet daughter and my beloved husband, yummy home made food, decent clothes to wear and the freedom to chase my dreams.
I love my life. :-)

I can feel your energy. You are very appreciative of all that's in your life. Kudos to you. I can learn alot from this.

This is a true called to all millennials, we do want what job prescribed for us, the status quo of yesteryears is no longer working, we are in the midst of the shift, a paradigm one, where ideas, passions, creativity can change the answer to our world... This is the reality, this is our rally cry!!!

Oh man. You get it! We can't keep the status quo any longer.

What's one thing you love about living in this time period?

Well for me I would say it's the gadgets and the ease with which things are done due to technological advancements . But seriously I hate the declining morals. Sometimes i feel it would be more difficult for God to find faithful people who he would take to heaven now than before. Things are just going bad morally by the day @humanearl and it makes me weep.

Talking about repeated numbers ...I told you I see them all the time. Below are two screenshots I took just today alone showing repeated numbers ...

Screenshot_20180226-102546~2.png

Screenshot_20180226-153338.png

We both see them. And man I'm with you about the declining morals. It will get much worse in the world. But we who know God must stand strong and continue being lights. Our reward will come soon.

I think going into debt for college is WAY overrated. You would have to pay me to go to college. Our government should stop supporting college debt slavery. College was much cheaper before the government decided to try and help make it affordable. Public schools are also a big waste of money but that is another topic.

Waaayy overated. Yepp. The sad thing though is that I highly doubt there will be any type of reform. Too much money is being made off of gullible and indecisive teens. It's a shame.

Waking up everyday

Brand new day, 16 more hours to make an impact. Knowing that I might die not knowing when, drives me to try and do more with the opportunities I have to help those that are lacking.

Thanks for the question. Cheers!

That's a great attitude and perspective to have. Make the most of our time.

steemit I can't think how I live on the planet. However heart being impressive with naturalize thinking. Stay Blessed.@humanearl, You always encourage us via motivation blogging. Another nice discussion again. I'm pretty happy to see various experience each followers of you. Millennial want work and life balance that most of us would want, no matter how old we are. Millennial want meaningful work that expresses their needs, values, talents and desire to learn. That doesn’t sound like unrealistic work ethics; in fact, it sounds quite normal. The challenge is because Millennial rarely hold back, they are going to actively pursue the career and the work and life balance they want. It’s not that they are not loyal they are, and they will stay with us as long as their needs are being met. Currently I love to stay with STEEMIT platform coz their options, features, opportunities and earning gives me more aspiration. So without

You said it best. We want work that inspires us and means something.

Indeed, now we live in an amazing time of change. As the development of digital technology is changing, and our lives. Still relatively recently, we would not have had the opportunity to communicate with each other at a distance. Now we have a huge number of possibilities and a way of transferring information to any distances within the planet and even partially in space.

It is at this time that a digital revolution is underway right before our eyes. We see how the Internet and the technology of the block chain change our life. Previously, you did not have the opportunity to make money finding houses and clicking on the buttons on the keyboard and the mouse. This is a time of great change and they just started happening.

This is the time of free-thinking people. People who can get rid of chains of mass media slavery. You can look at any situation from different angles and find out different opinions. We are all part of a growing future. All the possibilities are in your hands. Soon the world will look different and our children will be more developed and more technological.

"Learn by yourself and teach others"

Yes! So many possibilities. So much to learn.

Money comes and go... family and health is what matters. I used to work for a casino... I seen many miserable millionaires and many joyful average people. The movie “The Panther,” portray Blacks as super heroes. It indicates that time of change is here: Blacks, Asians, and Latinos are gaining ground in entertainment as well as politics.

The narrative is indeed changing a bit.

What I love about living in this time?
I don't care about the material things. My family is what makes me love to live today. It is Not the same as in the past. But we are closer together. We speak more often. Even in long distance, we can communicate. Feels like we are close to each other.

Glad you are thankful for that. Some people don't have much family to support them.

Yeah it sucks but we can all be thankful for what we have. Just appreciate. Thanks man.

I love that people and our world can change for the better. It gives hope :D. I honestly think that we will save the world. There will be huge technological jumps and our living become environmentally friendly, peaceful and sustainable.

I do think things will get more convenient and technologically advanced. However I also anticipate things to get worse in the world.

But we can't stop being light.

current life has changed, indeed, I do not disagree with this change, but if a change to the negative direction I disagree.
I'm more concerned with social and cultural, as social and cultural makes life more beautiful and that the awarding of the sublime.
thanks @humanearl

The world will get worse but that doesn't mean we can't try to impact it in a positive way.

Popcorns' Ready
Life about to get Changed ><

Well we sure are living in the age of tech that I am indeed loving it but every thing has its good and bad sides all along !Hope we get the good sides much more than the bad ones !

I think till now, the world is harnessing the beauty and the benefits of technology to good use. Though some may be working against those good innovations and intentions, we all must join hands to crush evil. Make the world a better place. We are definitely living in good times.

Of course there is the good and the bad. I do think things will get worse but those of us who want to can continue being positive and trying to change things for the better.

Well I do agree with your thinking :)

we are in the world which is changing every minute to say in the league we need to be active if we are not we are lacking behind it

Every single minute. Every time I turn around there's some new groundbreaking idea.

I love steemit! 😂
Social media is life! Millenials tend to voice out and show off all their activities on social media. It is really easy to share victories and failures. Social media has been the bestfriend of the millenials. Go millenials! We rock!🤗

Haha. For sure. I never was a huge fan of social media. But now with Steemit I like it.

The best thing we witnessed in this current time is the evolution.
Everything around is has changed drastically from television, landlines ,mobility services, business, every things just got change in pinch of years.even the social media platforms if we consider steemit a major player has changed.
We are liking the change and every aspect of it,it really makes our life easy and more productive than previous generation.

And just imagine what the tech will be like 5 years from now

In my opinion, lifestyle changes with time. Also as the time passes the needs of people changes and demand for more and more improvements arises.

True that and we are witnessing that now.

Life is not like we imagine, but we have to live this life with patience, so with patience we will gain happiness ..
Life will be useful when we respect each other ..

Respect goes such a long way.
