Same Facts, Different Worldview
I cannot definitively prove that God exists as that would require all knowledge since we can't see him. But also the atheist cannot disprove God due to the lack of all knowledge. So where do we go next? Well here are two points that I want to make. I believe they are crucial to the argument for the existence of God or for his non-existence.
Last View Standing:
- We have to look at the evidence to support our claims of whether or not God exists
- To go even further we have to see which worldview is the most logical and reasonable. This will allow for us to see if our worldview will stand on its own.
So please, if you identify as atheist or if you just want to discuss God's existence, I welcome you to pour your heart out on this issue and feel free to ask questions. Lastly let's all be adults and not relegate to personal attacks. It's all love on this side. Peace to the world.
Why do you not believe in God?
Why do you believe in God?
If God revealed himself would you believe?

DOES GOD EXIST?.
I believe in GOD and I know he exists.
Here are my reasons:
As a child I used to hear Him speak to me and direct me, and I don't mean an imaginary friend.
I feel His Presence: I feel His comfort when I need it and I feel Him walking with me and leading me when I need direction.
He answers me when we have a conversation in Prayer.
I know GOD exists through His Word.
5.He has revealed Himself to me through His HOLY SPIRIT.
I don't expect a layman to understand all these.
But, it's more of the Spiritual than the Physical.
And cannot be explained by mere words but until you have an Encounter with GOD yourself.
GOD SURELY DOES EXIST.
You have much personal experience with God. Those are powerful and rel moments. When people experience God for themselves it's unlike anything else. Thanks for sharing
You are right Sir.
It's an indescribable experience.
Words aren't adequate enough to express how real GOD is.
It just has to be experienced personally.
I pray all those doubting HIS Existence have a life changing encounter with him-just like Saul's encounter or even better.
Thanks @humanearl, I pray more people see the debate and are transformed by it.
💖
@humanearl,
God exist? Yes!
I am not going deeper, but yeah I believe it!
Cheers~
I'm with you.
Ok. I did my homework, and i plan to keep this as short and detailed as possible.
I believe the most solid foundation in the believe that God exists and did from the beginning, is the eventual coming to the world of Jesus Christ. This was the first (and last) case of a virgin conceiving independent of seed from a man.
We do hear in some other religions of people referring to Mohammed, Moses, etc, as prophets and messengers of God, but during the life of Jesus Christ, though He kept referring to Himself as being sent from the Father, He was the closest to the nature of God that was made evident.
During Jesus' baptism, there was the loud voice from heaven, and when He died, the God nature in Him was made manifest as the earth was shaken and dead saints arose, there was also the splitting of the temple veil, and the eclipse. The resurrection, appearances, and ascension of Jesus in plain sight (which cannot be down proven by science), can justify to an extent the believe christians have in the existence of God.
Furthermore, the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles in the upper room (the first in record of such experience) can further illustrate this claim. Here, someone may say spirits of the same kind exist also in the supernatural realm, i think so too. But like i said in an earlier comment on this, there are supernatural forces in existent, but there is one most powerful than all, and christians choose to believe that the one is the force of God.
I would say more if i had to refer to the scripture, but i did not want to so i won't seem biased. I made sure the few references i made to the stories in the Bible are those that happened in plain sight.
Maybe we can't empirically prove that God exists, and Jesus came to the world, died and resurrected. But it is also the same way we can't empirically prove that William Shakespeare was the first man to write poetry.
Hope this is short enough, lol...
Hope it makes sense to someone.
Good job once again to my boss @humanearl.
Solid points. I always say we can't prove him in that way either but neither can anyone who says he doesn't exist. So from that point on I lean towards the most evidence. To me the evidence suggest a creator of all or as you and I know him. God.
I believe there is a god, here I try to give evidence, such as day with night, man with woman, rich with poor, sun with moon ..
All of them are created in pairs, have we ever thought who created it all ??
It is all created by God, and it becomes proof that God is there ..
I believe so too.
A very good post @humanearl, this is very useful for everyone. In my opinion, we as humans who live in this world we must believe that God exists. We can see and prove that God exists is to see the existence of this world and all the contents that exist in this world, if there is no god of this world and its contents do not exist. But it all depends on the way each of us, because the god can not we see, so, to believe in the god it depends on our respective religions. Thanks for sharing, and wish you a wonderful day ... :)
Without God wee have no reason to live moral lives. I just mean that without God where do we get morality from. Some people would argue that He doesn't exist but I agree with you that he does.
@humanearl sir...
funny conversation, amazing how personal people get on the subject. I believe that god exists as much as i do not believe. Why? because one thing I am certain of is that the human mind is notoriously prone to playing tricks on its owner. To be fair, I believe in the possibility of a godlike entity, most certainly not in any concept of god brought forth by any relegion. Really if you want to get technical something like Gravity is compareable in power to the God in most religions.... Invisible, imutable, infinite. Gravity is the reason the universe formed as it did, it is the reason there is life on this planet. Sound familliar? LOL Point simply being that what we define as god is unique to each of us, even inside religions, even inside sects, even inside seperate places of worship for that sect, even within the people in the places of worship. We identify this longing to find a place in the universe with the people around us. My friends we live on the luckiest rock in the lonliest place, our planet is one billion miles from the nearest bacteria colony. All we have is each other, no one is comming to save us.
Cheers~~~
But how can gravity in itself create life from nothing. That implies that gravity has intelligence. Now either gravity is an entity of some sort or gravity is just a code/law put in place by an intelligent source.
Good good good @humanearl
It is such a long and long debate in history, and I think it will continue for another good time. However, I consider that the belief in a superior being is a natural quality in the human being. That need of Hope that, when dying, we will continue to another plane (Call heaven, reincarnation, another dimension, etc). I believe that the belief in God, in any culture, is based more on ethical and moral needs, also on physical and material needs: the more these needs are, the faith will increase. Good post friend. Greetings from Venezuela.
Cool. Never met anyone from Venezuela. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
You are welcome to Venezuela (When the socialist tragedy ends)
I believe in God because I already am filled by the Holy Spirit. It is not just a mere emotion that I felt but it is the sweet touch of God. Speaking in tongue is an evidence that He exists. It is indeed an amazing encounter with our living God.
One more thing, we are living freely today because of His grace, because of the cross that He carried 2000 years ago.
God blesses you everyday in every way.
Wow. Glad you have met God for yourself. An encounter with God is the most powerful thing to experience.
For me, this is no debate. God exist. And that's it!
Enough said haha.
No importa, que nombre le atribuya cada religión creada por el hombre, Dios existe por encima de todas ellas, saludos
A good post, there is much to think about. I believe in God, even if there is no God, that is, something that protects us.
Without God we have no reason to live morally . This is why I am led to believe there is a God due to the fact that we have morality.
Amen!
I believe in God! People want tangible reasons, but the evidences are more spiritual than physical. If there is a supernatural realm, then there are supernatural beings, and the controller of the realm, though there are other principalities in this realm.
It is hard to engage in this kinda argument without bringing in the scriptures, but if you do, you will be entertaining questions like, how sure are you about the writings in the scripture when you were not there from the beginning?
Everyone believes in a superior being, even if that being is their superior self. The believe in God Almighty enhances morality, freedom, and true purpose of living. Believe in the Existence of God helps us make sense of all the nature we see around us, tracing it to a common source of creation. There are other theories debunking that of christianity in the creation story but i'll take some more time to do my home work, and return here soon with a more solid answer.
But altogether, i think if God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent Him. Lol..
Thank you for always speaking up about things like this.
I'd go even further. If God does not exist then what reasons do we have to live moral lives. Where does morality come from if there is no ultimate being to create it?
Well it does depends on how one believes.I do believe in Almighty and all the things said by him and the messenger as there are logical and pure explanation !
Yes!! It is very logical to believe in God. It is actually illogical to believe he doesn't exist.
I do agree with your point !
I believe that God exists because, I can feel him. I know that everything needs it's creator. There are many things that can't be perceived by logic. You need to feel them within the surroundings, and within yourself. When I submit myself to God (eg. when I pray), I feel the tranquillity that's not matchable to anything else. And, the most important thing, I've never been refused when I wanted anything from God; it might have come a little late then I anticipated, but my prayers were fulfilled each and every time. God is someone who will never let you down, never let you give up, if you understand and believe him :)
It's amazing that you have that relationship with him. Very powerful. Thanks for sharing how you feel about it.
Its been a long time since I last visited on your blog @humanearl (2 or 3days if not mistaken), because i'm too busy reviewing it is our midterm exam...
I do believed in God, and I know that God exist.
It was all written in the Bible. What had happened in the past, what is happening right now and what will happen next. God is unseen but I can feel Him. I have one testimony about on how I conclude that exist God.
No worries. Take care of your schooling. I wish you very well in that. What your have going on is more important.
Answered prayer are one of the most powerful experiences to have. I have had this in the past too.
I'm agnostic, which is basically i don't think about supernatural events that i can't prove or disprove... which is basically what god is, i can't prove he exists but i can't disprove he exists... I just go by my day trying to be the best person i can be for myself.
The only thing that makes me pissed about the Catholic church is that they have huge amounts of money but they choose not to spend any of it on poor people, i see priests in the USA driving BMW, etc... and then I open up the TV and i see people in africa starving to death...
I don't know about other people but i think that instead of the catholic church wasting money building new churches in africa they could very well use that money and actually try to better the place. Make the agriculture better, bring water to places that haven't any, etc... yes, i know they are already doing some of these things, but i know they can do MUCH more then they are doing...
But it's not only the church, there are other supposed "good organizations" that do the exact same thing....
Understandable bro. Yea tons of money is being misused for non sense.
its the belief that matters it might not be good for me to say anything but if you believe then god exists in everything around us :)
He is everywhere at all times.
These are the correct words. Personally, I know many facts and opinions that say that there is no God. But I also know the facts that say that God is. In the world there are many things and phenomena that people can not understand. Science can not explain some things, but at the same time, thanks to science, humanity is developing.
God lives every man. You can be kind and bear good for people, but you also can be evil. But as we all know, there is balance in the world. Good always triumphs over evil. Nearly. Hence God is within each person and you can, through faith, cope with any manifestation of evil. It is "faith" that has great power in the role of mankind. Faith works wonders even from a medical point of view. There have been cases when people who are terminally ill have recovered through faith. Therefore, this is another fact.
Personally, I believe in the proclamation of the higher powers or otherwise "the universal plan." I see no reason to argue on religion. It is the theme of faith and religion that should not cause aggression in people. But all over the world on religious grounds there are always conflicts. Personally, I'm interested in knowing other points of view.
Ok love your thoughts man. All I want to say is seek truth. There are certain questions that we ask that we may not have an answer to at the moment. But I believe there's much we can know on the subject of God.
I believe in a god but do not praise, to think that god is going to help you out on a personal level and talk to you in words, that is a bit nutty, to be said god is all around you to the known and unknown. Everyone is god, well part of god. the bible is a good book with good morals, but still just mans words and HIStory. I think people main issue on the subject is the perversion and worship of god. GOD is yet just another word made by humans. I like to think of him as a 1 and Satan as a 0. 0 is the absence of 1. We are the numbers in the middle, The real question is are you trying to be a 1 or a 0. and can you find balance in the middle.
I understand your thoughts. I think you are assuming that God couldn't talk to you or help you on a personal level. If everyone is god then that means god is also evil. So people like adolf hitler was god too then. What are your thoughts about this?
GOD EXIST...firstly, if i want to write on this topic i'm sure the comment box wont be enough. science has proven that there is "natural" and "supernatural" also science has made it known to us that we occupy the natural world, the question is, who occupies the supernatural worlds ??. that is a take home question. i dare anyone for an answer. i love this topic.
Wow. Interesting question about who occupies the supernatural. Supernatural beings of different power levels occupy that space. Some have different names or descriptions of who but I personally believe that God angels, satan and the wannabe gods occupy that space. The supernatural or spirit world influences much of what goes on on the Earth.
Good point. I think the fallacy of the atheist argument in question becomes even more apparent when written out in formal logic. Basically, the argument goes like this:
Thus, the crux of the argument is that if evil things happen to people, then God must not exist. However, herein lies the problem: how does the atheist distinguish between good and evil? Everyone has some idea of what is good and what is evil, but different people may disagree about whether certain things are good or evil, so in order to objectively prove that evil exists, we need an objective way to distinguish between good and evil. From a theistic perspective, the obvious solution is to say that God is good by definition - God's character is what furnishes the objective definition of goodness and love. Evil, then, is simply defined as the antithesis of good, and so it is the nature of God that furnishes a means of objectively distinguishing between good and evil. Yet, if God does not exist, then neither does the distinction between good and evil. Thus, if the conclusion log the argument (7) is true, then the premise that evil exists (3) becomes false, and so the argument is anti-circular. Instead of the conclusion proving its own premises as in a circular argument, the conclusion disproves its own premises.
This is one of the most sound cases against atheism. This is also what I say. How can we know what is actually good or evil without a standard of morality. The only argument against God's existence that I hear from atheists are about the morality of God. So I am with you with this great argument you make.
@humanearl, That's excellent discussion you provided here. Humans have variation of world views about god. Everyone stay alive now don't see god yet and he's invisible to others and someone believe he's live their heart soul. Whether to thank Him or ask him to make our wishes come true, we have always folded our hands and bowed our heads for Him. But little do we know that praying to God is not an exam in which memorized theories will earn us good points. He sees right through us, through all our never ceasing praying and pleading and right into our soul. He knows that you are thankful to him from every genuine smile of ours. He knows what we truly want even if our words say a sentence with no connection with what he understood. Stay blessed.
Its a great discussion to have. Thanks
@humanearl - Sir I believe the god exist... But i never seen him... But I feel he is around us when we do good works...
+W+
He is everywhere.
A painting tells there's a painter.
A building is proof there's a builder who built it.
A design is proof there's a designer who made the design.
A car tells us there's a car manufacturer somewhere.
A book is proof there's an author.
Creation itself is the proof for a Creator - God.
Yepp! And God is self existent
There is a higher being than us. That I believe. Is that higher being the god that is in the bible? Nope, I don't think so 🙂
If not the God of the bible then who?
I believe its just a higher force than us, intelectually higher and more advanced i believe.
The bible speaks about a loving God whom you can rely on. But then I look around and I see people with overflowing money and people dying of hunger.
