Life and Death

Sunset at one of the cemeteries in our town.

Ghouls. Ghosts. Evil Spirits. These are associated with cemeteries. Blame the horror movies. People normally dread passing by a cemetery during night time. The place for the dead always gives that eerie feeling to any passerby. It might be the deafening silence accompanied by the chilling air that makes the ambiance a little unbearable to the people with fertile imagination.

Not everyone believes in the supernatural, but all of us agree that we will all die. Death is the great equalizer. The rich, the popular, the brilliant, the influential, the average, the poor and the forgotten group of people will all face death. We will all die.

Living a purposeless life is scarier than death. Running aimlessly is like catching the wind. It dries the soul. Living with a purpose enables us to conquer our fears along the way.

The next time we pass by a cemetery may it remind us of our mortality. I hope this thought would inspire us to make decisions in light of eternity. The only way to live is to know that one day everything will come to an end.

This should be in everyone's mind every single waking day.

Thanks. :) I agree.

Death is the great equalizer. I like that. 😀

I got that from a poetry class way back in college. ;)
