The Mighty Gnanesh

Where To Put Him

There are guidelines where to put him. The idea is to foster vibrations of success, happiness and joy. The science of Ayurveda architecture (Vatsu) suggests that Ganesh be placed in the northeastern corner of the house. Or at least the northeast part of your room. Vatsu also suggests that this is a good place to put your puja table and is also the best place for meditation. This is called the Ishan corner.

Ganesh In White

For those who are seeking serenity, joy, peace and happiness, and prosperity, the white image of Ganesh is for you. White is the color of pure intention and spirituality.

**Ganesh In Vermillion"

If you are looking to gain self-growth place a vermilion Ganpati (a name for Ganesh) in your home. This color represents the ascension of man (the genus not the gender). The image is that of the lotus as it gradually opens it's thousand petals of the flower at the top of your head.

Ganesh Sitting

A statue of Ganesh who is poised in a seated position is a blessing to the house. This represents the spiritual and physical being calm and at rest. It just the very kind of energy that we all want in our homes.

How The Trunk Is Poised

When the trunk poised in a tilt to the left hand this is also good for the well being of the whole house. It again represents joy and success. If the trunk is positioned to the right it represents the acquisition of the power of the sun. This power burns if strict rituals are not followed.

The Standing Ganesh

If you are presenting Ganesh in your work space, look to Ganesh who is standing. This brings energy and passion to your labors.

The God In The Details

Don't forget to have a mouse and a modak as a part of the statues that you display. A modak is a sweet in India. These additions are an important part of his purpose. The mouse is there to represent the desire for the material. This is to remind us that we should never be allowed to let the material disturb our peace of mind. The sweets represent not getting swept up by the desires and pleasures of the world.

Just One Is Enough

Ganesh is powerful and only one idol is necessary. More than one may negate his blessings of positive energy. Like to waves canceling each other out.

Reflect On His Purpose

His deep meaning is more important than any of these rules. He shows us the paths of contentment, peace and happiness. He is the embodiment of success in this life and the next. He reminds us to keep trying and not give in to troubles.
