This is my first trail guide post. In these posts I intend to outline a loop or a ride I complete and give an overall impression of the trails. I will go through the ride trail by trail, and upload any photos I took.
I hope you enjoy!
Waterline Trail
![vs7s03juww.jpg]()After a short, and punchy climb, Waterline Trail follows along the west side of Rodney Ridge and heads all the way back as far as the ridge continues. This trail has a number of right hand switch backs when headed in the direction away from the city. Along the trail there are some tight spots, and small rock gardens, but for the most part, it is a flat and easy warm up!
Along the trail, there are a number of different trail intersections that lead up to the top of Rodney Ridge.
TR Trail
![fy0nmnnh7g.jpg]()Full disclosure: this trail is being ridden backwards from Trailfork's recommendation. Its not the steepest of trails in the area, but it is long and has some fantastically banked turns. Its shallow grade makes it a great trail to climb, though. The top of the trail is a great spot for a quick break before beginning the first downhill.
This downhill is fun, but quite short before it is back on the pedals. The base of the trail connects to many other trails that criss cross Rodney Ridge.
Rodney Ridge Doubletrack
This trail constitutes the second climb of the loop. It is actually visible on the right side of the last photo. The beginning of this trail is the most techinical climb in the loop. At the top, it turns into a smooth and mostly flat pedal across the top of the ridge. The trail eventually intersects with Don't Fence Me In trail.
Don't Fence Me In
This trail is by far the highlight of the loop. It is a long, easily flowable downhill with a few nice burmed switch backs and some loose techy rock to navigate. About half way down the trail there are a few punchy uphill sprints, but they do not detract at all from the fun. In a few spots there are also some nice rollers that can be jumped with enough speed. This trail finally ends back into Waterline trail. Conveniently, the intersection points in the correct direction to head back to town.
My bike!
In case anyone is interested, I road the loop on this bike! if anyone is interested in a rundown of the componants and a review, let me know!
