Hi Steemians!
Today I wanted to start my first new blog about how social psychology directly affects on our life.
I did some research and would like to share the results with others who may be interested in.
An article published by British Journal of Psychology, psychologists of the Singapore University of management and the London school of economic and political sciences put forward "the savanna theory of happiness". The name indicates its antiquity of our many experiences: it is supposed that the satisfaction of the person with a situation is influenced not only by its current effects but also those which followed from it in the past.
The theory became the result of data analysis, the residents of the USA who are brought together by longitudinal inspection to National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health during which in 2001-2002 more than 15 thousand people aged from 18 up to 28 years were in details interviewed. At the first stage of work, scientists considered communications between three factors: assessment experimental on IQ scale, population density in places of their accommodation and the level of satisfaction with life. As well as it was possible to expect, people are more often happy with life in not too overpopulated towns. However, if IQ is exclusively high, this effect was the return – such people feel in a dense environment of others more comfortable.
Then the authors took three following factors: IQ, satisfaction with life and the involvement into communication – meetings, parties, telephone conversations, etc. And again "too smart" all others proved to be different, then. As a rule, people become happier, communicating with friends and acquaintances more. However owners of high and ultrahigh IQ, on the contrary, become less satisfied, communicating more. Explain these results it appeared not easy – from here and the "savanna theory of happiness" offered by scientists undertook.
Authors specify that millions of years our ancestors lived groups of hunters and collectors numbering about 150 people. Therefore the surplus of people in modern megalopolises complicates our interaction with them and makes us less happy. And vice versa: the frequent contact and updating of social communications with about 150 acquaintances are potentially useful and bring satisfaction.
But people with very high IQ values have everything not so: their intelligence allows to perceive and adapt to new living conditions exclusively effectively. It brings pleasure from life in rich with impressions and it is difficult for a predictable situation, but does quiet "rural" life incredibly boring. For the same reason it quite comfortably and alone. So if you are not too happy with yourself, maybe, you are just too clever?

Attention, please
This is my personal blog with my thoughts and and my observations about social life and world around.
Please don't be so shy to write comments, that's can help me to make my content more interesting to all.
I'm gonna have to disagree with that.
Though it is true that people with a higher degree of intelligence are surely less social and are often misunderstood, I wouldn't recommend that they stop communicating with other people.
Rather, they should try to spread their knowledge to people by approaching them. People are always willing to learn something new, you just gotta find a way to teach them.
If the people with a higher IQ can find that way, they'll notice how people are more than willing to listen to them and discuss ideas.
I can agree with u but... the main point is that all of us afraid and "avoid" persons who are not like us and that's why we are on the circle. this is the same situation when more than 70% of people afraid of changes in their life, we afraid of something unknown in our life
