wide mindset

Hello Steemians, Welcome to another post of mine!

Today I want to share about the old story that would inspire us in every condition of our life. I believe life's never fair, who would argue that? Sometimes you might see that you are on the top on the world, and suddenly you find yourself in the deep trap hole created by other people! In such circumstance, what would we do? Should we get angry when we miss the job promotion because of our stupid employee? Or when your favorite car get crashed when you lend it to someone? or When you miss the bus because the slow people ahead you? Should you get mad and being in rage because of them?
Now, let's see an interesting old Chinese story regarding this matter, and I hope we can learn something from this. Also, don't hesitate to comment if you want to discuss this post with me or other readers. Enjoy!

Once upon a time, there lived a wise old man. In one morning, there came a young man who was afflicted with many problems to his place. His steps are unsteady and the face is complicated, with all the gestures are showing that he was in a rush. That guest, you could see him as the most typical unhappy person that you can imagine. He went into the wise man house, and without wasting time, the person tells all his problems. He talked about his problematic career, problematic marriage, problematic finance, and any tought that would make his life very miserable.

the wise old man, just listen carefully, and asked him to calm down. He asked the young man if he wanted to drink some water, which then agreed by him, and the wise man went into the kitchen. He then took a handful of salt, took a glass of warm water, spread the salt into the glass, then stir it slowly.

"Try drinking this, and say how it feels ...", said the old man."Bitter. Very bitter," replied the guest. while spitting sideways.

The old man made a little smile, then invited this guest to walk to the edge of the lake in the forest nearby his house. The two men walked side by side, and finally they came to the edge of the calm lake.

The old man, then again sprinkled a handful of salt, into the lake. With a piece of wood, a wave is stirred and water ripples are created, disturbed the calm of the lake. "Try, take the water from this lake, and drink it. When the guest finishes drinking the water, the old man says again." How does it feel? "

"very fresh", the young man said. "Do you feel the salt in the water?" Asked the old man again. 'No,' answered the young man. Wisely. The old man patted the young man's back. He then invited him to sit face to face, kneeling beside the lake. "Young people, listen. The bitterness of life, is like a handful of salt, no more and no less. The amount and taste of bitter is the same, and indeed will remain the same.
But, the bitterness that we feel will depend on the container we have. Bitterness. will be based on feelings where we put everything. It will all depend on our hearts. So, when you feel bitterness and failure in life, there is only one thing you can do. Hold yourself to accept everything. Expand your heart to accept each bitterness. "
The old man then returned to give advice. "Your heart, is that container. Your feeling is that place. Your mind, is where you hold everything. So, don't make your heart as small as a glass of water, make it as wide as a lake that can reduce every bitterness and turn it into freshness and happiness."

Both of them then went home. They both learned that day. And the Old Man, the wise man, returned to save "a handful of salt", for other young people, who often came to him with anxiety and bitterness of this world.

So, how do you think about the story? Do you find it relate-able with your life? Now, we understand that we need to enlarge our heart to change any bad circumstances into happiness. This is a very important message in the modern word, where bitterness and stressful situation arise in any aspect of life.
